Golden Avenida Family Suites

We visited here with my 2 toddlers, aged 1 and 2. This hotel was very family friendly and great especially for young families. All the staff were so welcoming and helpful. They were great with the kids. The entertainment team at night from the Goldie Club were fantastic. The prices in the lounge area were also really reasonable too. We were half board, the food was OK. It did change every day however i did notice a lot of people microwaving their food. As we were half board this didn’t really bother us. The room was great for our family. Having the extra bedroom allowed my husband and I to stay up longer than the kids. A lot of hotels are just one single room for all so we really enjoyed having the extra space for the kids to have their naps. We stayed on the 6th floor facing the road. We didn’t notice much noise from the outside however the echo of people from the corridors carried into the room at times. This didn’t bother us but I could see how it might bother people with kids who are light sleepers. The pool had plenty of loungers available and unlike many other hotels there was no real rush in the mornings with people trying to reserve sun loungers. This may be possibly because we stayed in off peak season in September. The pool however was FREEZING even though temperatures were in the high 20’s. This didnt bother my eldest but my youngest wouldn’t go near the pool because it was too cold. The negatives listed didn’t bother us too much but I could see how it maybe could annoy people. We really enjoyed our time in Golden Avenida, the staff as mentioned were brilliant and so helpful. The location of the hotel is brilliant too. We were able to walk to and from Portaventura it took a short 20/30 minutes. We definitely will return as we had a great time.

Not enough words to describe our best experience here. Very friendly staff, always smiling and always asking if we are ok and if we need anything else. Every day and night new interesting entertainment for adults and children. The food is very tasty and for all tastes. The rooms are cleaned every day. Walking distance to the beach and local shops.

We have just come back from a ten day stay here. This is a lovely hotel very clean lovely staff all round. The room was really nice and spacious for us 2 adults & 2 kids. The cleaners did a great job every day of refreshing the room and making the beds. Shout out to them I think they all do a fantastic job. We went half board so breakfast and either lunch or dinner each day id liked the idea of being able to swap each day what meal we wanted. Food was ok actually. Nice salad bar and the omelettes in the morning were good too! I thought there was a good choice not too much sometimes it can be overwhelming! The indoor & outdoor pool was great. Entertainment staff all friendly too. The hotel is a minutes walk from lots of bars & restaurants & shops. Great location. The only reason I am giving the hotel a 4 out of 5 is it’s so noisy in the room like unbearable in all the hotels I have ever stayed in back in the uk and other hotels around the world I have never heard so much noise lying in bed with the door shut. People walking/running bouncing balls up and down the corridor doors slamming it was awful hearing people come back to the room around midnight and the same up early you can hear every move. I know it’s not the hotels fault how noisy guests are but I feel the flooring in the hall doesn’t help. It doesn’t feel like the rooms are sound proofed at all. And I don’t think I’d stay here again based on that one negative. Which is a shame as we enjoyed our stay apart from that issue but it was a huge issue. But all in all a lovely stay we had a great holiday! Thanks to all staff!

Great hotel with brilliant staff. There is always something good to eat at the buffet for all the family. Kids loved the pool as always. This has been our 5th visit and we have enjoyed it as much as the first one. The staff remember you and welcome with open arms and can’t do enough for you.

Been going to Salou for over 20 years, but 1st time here. 1st impressions were truly terrible. Arrived 11.30 pm to be told my reservation had been cancelled. I had booked direct and paid in full when i booked. I had all documents confirming this and there was even an email on the system with guy at desk confirming payment had been rec'd in full. He would not budge saying all he could do is take a further payment for 1st night then manager would look into it in the morning. He even had the hard neck to ask if i wanted to add breakfast on????? So 1st night we couldn't' even unpack. 1st thing manger Ingrid thankfully sorted everything efficiently and professionally. From there in we had a great holiday. Plenty of choices in the restaurant. Bar staff worked so hard as did the entertainment team. We took part in archery, riffle and pistol shooting, table tennis, darts etc. Rooms were spacious and clean. Was great having the spare room. Shower very powerful. Fine location for bars, shops and beach. There was a very warm feel to the place. Would return again.
