"The lake is very full at the moment so there is no beach and the area next to the lake is dirty, but that is not their fault. Better to check lake levels before booking this place else you will have no beach. Nice location next to the lake, set a bit above the lake. Lovely, well-kept gardens. Chalets are comfortable if you don't mind climbing down steep stairs to the upstairs room. Very nice bar and the view from the bar at sunset is is wonderful. Breakfast was very good. There were no internet on the first day, following morning only intermittent internet at reception. The cellphone signal is also very bad."

"I went to Sunbird Waterfront for the first time not knowing what to expect as a very discerning traveller. I was pleasantly surprised by the relaxing sound of the waves crashing to shore, The bartender was able to make me a vesper, like no other in Malawi most of whom could not even make it. Go here to digitally detox and lounge around letting the sound of the waves relax you. A great book, a cigar and a great bottle of wine."
