Rey Manes Hotel is on the outskirts of Salihli next to a junction with traffic lights on the main Izmir to Ankara road. This makes it a convenient stop over spot on a journey, but also means that there is traffic noise in many of the rooms. The traffic disturbed my sleep. There is plenty of space for parking on the road outside. A neighbouring shop and bar are useful. Staff were helpful and used a translation App when my Turkish proved limiting. Communication was excellent. The large room had an equally large ensuite shower room. The hotel design is unusual and means that several of the rooms have curved walls and windows. The large bed was comfortable with adequate bedding. There were charging points next to the bed and reading lights. WiFi worked on the room. The room came with a fridge, kettle, tea, coffee and proper mugs. (Many Turkish hotels offer only paper cups). The wet room housed the toilet and shower, while the hand basin was in an alcove of the bedroom. Towels and toiletries provided. Plenty of hot water. Breakfast buffet was the usual Turkish breakfast with cheeses, preserves, salad, bread, pastries and eggs. There was no fruit juice. The downstairs dining room offers a view of the garden and lorries passing by. The restaurant on the top floor was closed, which was a disappointment. There are options for dinner within walking distance including the full service Suresto Restaurant and road side Değirmen Odun Köfte. Neither is good value, but give a choice of price and no need to use the car. Sardis ancient city is about a 15 minute drive from the hotel. Rey Manes Hotel offers a more luxurious stay than the price suggests it will be. Good place for a stop over. Shame about the road noise.
