The New Inn

We have just returned from a four night stay at the New Inn, Winchelsea and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It's located right in the centre of the village and parking at the premises was never a problem. The landlord and landlady are a lovely couple and their staff are very pleasant and welcoming. Our accommodation was excellent. The room was extremely clean with fresh linen and towels everyday. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom well stocked. Unlike some places I have stayed in, hot water for showering etc was available at all times. We had an early dinner at the inn on two occasions and the food was excellent, very tasteful, fresh ingredients and well cooked. The complimentary breakfast was cooked to order and provided a great and filling start to the day. The inn has a beer garden and food can be taken outside if desired . The place is well located to use as a base for exploring the local area and we hope to enjoy the hospitality again soon. I recommend this place for a relaxing break.

A wonderful place to stay, a very comfortable room with view towards the church. The food was excellent, real ale at the bar and looked after by a great team. There are some good walks to the coast, along the Royal Military Canal and into the beautiful Sussex countryside. Winchelsea, a Cinque port, has so much history to explore, well worth the visit.

Have just returned from a 2 night stay and must tell everybody how brilliant it was.Room very comfortable and clean. Nice to have sofa to watch the smart ready TV. Extra touches included good quality toiletries. Room cleaned between days with clean towels. Pub food very good value, food staff and owners extremely friendly. Breakfast was either continental or cooked or mixture. Didn't want to go home.

Lovely food, super service, friendly staff, great ambiance , easy parking and reasonable prices . Did a nice 6 mile flat pre Sunday roast, circular walk to Rye and back via Cam er Castle finishing with roast .

What an amazing place Beautiful gardens Wide selection of wine and non alcoholic beers Not tried the food yet but it did smell nice when were we there last Dog friendly which is always a must for us Owners and staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Please bring back pork scratchings!!!

Went in for an evening meal. Chicken pasta in creamy sauce = £14 2 portions garlic bread = £8 Garlic bread cost nearly 2/3 of the main meal! The pasta was ok, not exactly bursting with flavour but to be charged £8 for garlic bread was simply outrageous! At a time when money is tight and the cost of living is crippling for many, to be charged ridiculous amounts of money for bread and garlic is just unacceptable.
