The Motel Staff communicated well, were friendly, and went the extra mile. Bedding was crisp and comfortable. Information about the area was abundant and well presented. Very nicely furnished. Heat pumps were on when we arrived, but found we needed to turn them up to 'Strong' mode, and then the rooms heated very quickly and we could turn them down again. Electric blankets on all beds. Very clean. Conveniently close to the highway between Hobart and Launceston, and not too far from roads Eastward and Westward. Adequate shops nearby, and we're looking forward to having breakfast at a local bakery in this beautiful historic town. Only disappointment was that cooking facilities was limited to kettle, microwave, fridge, crockery and cutlery. In most situations, this is enough to make do, and it didn't detract from our stay, we just thought there would be a kitchen. I also thought there would be a living room of sorts (or separate kitchen). With 2 very spacious bedrooms, one including table and chairs, and the other a large desk area, this was no problem at all but if I had an active young child I might want more space, or I might be happy to make do. Young children are clearly catered for here with plastic bowls etc and a very small chair. Parking is just a couple meters from the front door, with mostly level ground, concrete path. Nice chairs out front. Staff offered to book us in for a meal at Campbelltown Hotel, less than 10 minutes up the road. The service there was better than we've seen for a long time. The food was also exceptional, and my young folk really enjoyed themselves. We paid just over $100 for reduced portion mains each, a drink each and dessert each. For a stopover to avoid finishing our trip home tired in the dark, we were well blessed by staying here. Thanks guys!

Friendly hosts, welcoming and very safe community. A perfect little town with a perfect little place to stay. Peter and Helen made us feel very welcome, as did the local residents of Ross. Exceptionally clean and comfortable with incredible sunsets right at the entrance to the motel. We will be back..

While doing a road trip around Tasmania found this accommodation gem hidden off the Midland highway in the historic township of Ross. Very reasonably priced rooms which were tastefully appointed and included a microwave and crockery, toaster, fridge etc. good sized room and bathroom. A fairly new build but style in keeping with the historic nature of this little township. Owner was welcoming and very helpful and her knowledge of the history of the area was wonderful, which encouraged us to stay in the town longer than intended to check out the highlights. Great bakery for breakfast and dinner at the friendly Man O Ross hotel all made this stop memorable. Recommend!!

We decided to stopover in Ross before heading on to Hobart & found this quaint motel. The room had everything! There was a space before entering the room for the tea/coffee making, refrigerator, microwave and a toaster where we had the continental breakfast that came with the room. The beds were very comfortable and had electric blankets in addition to the heater. Great place for a stopover!

Beautifully appointed small motel, lovely well kept gardens, comfortable bed, friendly owner and staff. Very quiet and a gorgeous Riverview. Special touch with the toiletries which were not the usual cheap motel toiletries. Not to mention the resident chickens who were very cute.

This out of the way motel gives a "Wow" factor when you open the door to your unit! A gorgeous room and historical setting to fit in with the rest of the town is a 'must stay' when visiting the beautiful town of Ross. Not only is the room comfy in every way but the staff are friendly and most accommodating.

The cottages are set up in a mini village next too the Macquarie River. Swans were coasting along, and the evening sunsets amazing. It may have been cold outside overnight, but the cottages are super warm with great (silent) heating, hot showers and a bed with sheets that when you get in feels like a big warm hug enveloping you. I stayed with 4 other colleagues and we all make comment on the immaculate cleanliness, and care taken in keeping the property at a high standard. Just gorgeous Ross Hotel, we will be back.

We needed a place to stay for 1 night just to rest and relax during our Motorhome tour of Tasmania. It was located in a beautiful village style place with well kept gardens and surrounds. The rooms were nice and clean and spacious and heaven to us after being in a Motorhome for nearly 2 weeks. It was such a gorgeous place. The staff were so friendly and helped with our washing and drying of our clothes as well. They could not do enough for us. Loved that you could park right outside your doo. The pub was excellent for dinner and breakfast the next day in the cafe was awesome. If you need a little stopover place while travelling in Tasmania this is the place to be. Highly recommended.
