We booked this holiday 3 weeks before going. Having been to the area 3 times previous we have walked past this hotel numerous times ahd commented on how lovely it looks. Mixed reviews as always on here but if you’re in any way nervous about any of the reviews I can’t stress enough to just ignore them! This hotel is incredibly clean. I sat one morning and watched the army of cleaners and pool staff scrub the pool and area around. They did this each morning and it was immaculate. The cleaning staff inside the hotel do an incredible job and at no point did we see anything dirty and I’d say we are very fussy with cleanliness! There was also no difficult ‘towel dash’ in a morning - all seemed quite relaxed and well organised. Never struggled to get the sunbeds we wanted when I came down at 8.55 in the morning. The bar staff are good and they have plenty on at all times, never waited more than 2 minutes for a drink! Within this area of Spain it is always slightly more difficult with the language barrier due to it being a very Spanish resort but it’s lovely being around Spanish people and not just constant English! The staff work hard to figure out what it is you want or need! Like all things there are always going to be some improvements and in our opinion using your room card for the all inclusive is a real pain! Always having to carry it and remember to take it with you, having to give it to each other to go and get a drink is a bit annoying. Not the end of the world but wrist bands would be better in my opinion! We would have like a small self serve area for soft drinks and tap beer like you often find at all inclusive hotels. Maybe a little snack area with burgers etc but you could get tapas at the bar and a couple of days they did a BBQ by the bar. It wasn’t always clear what the all inclusive options were, the menu says some things are a supplement but in some of the bars they are on the all inclusive - this could be made more clear. The food is probably the best all inclusive food we’ve had - it’s not a huge selection but the quality is better than some hotels with massive selections! We never struggled to find a table for 5 people at a meal time. Occasionally at breakfast time we had to walk around for a minute or so to find one but that was all! We found pink chicken one night - we all picked up the same chicken and all of them were pink so this was a bit off putting but no one ate it and no one was ill! Animation team! They are the best group of staff we have ever seen at a hotel! The effort and work they put in is unbelievable! They are not at all pushy to join in anything but the shows they put on at night are amazing!! They were fantastic with the kids and were just all round brilliant! Again all very Spanish but most of them could speak in English too. All in all a brilliant 10 days away! Best all inclusive hotel we’ve been to for the rating and price!!
Hotel Best Sabinal

POSITIVES The reception staff were friendly and welcoming and as we arrived a little early they directed us to the poolside bar to wait whilst the room was prepared. Once ready, we discovered that the room was clean and well-maintained with powerful aircon and comfy beds. The bathroom contained lots of towels and a range of free toiletries. The kitchen had a working fridge and microwave and the balcony had a terrific view of the pool and beach. The poolside bar serves a small portion of free tapas when you order a round of drinks. The price of 1 large beer or a tinto de verano with 3 soft drinks was less than £8 which is incredible. The tapas was tasty as well. There are a range of shops, cafes and bars around the hotel and beach access is literally across the path at the rear of the hotel. The pool area was clean and well-maintained and the water slide was good fun for the children. You never had to fight to get sun loungers as there was plenty of space. The restaurant (we had breakfast and evening meal included) served a wide range of foods, and the breakfast includes pancakes, cereals, continental style and pastries along with unlimited hot drinks. It was clean and the service was friendly and prompt. LESS POSITIVE This hotel is a destination for Spanish people to go on holiday, so most of what is in place does not cater to those looking for a Spanish holiday ‘for Brits’. This isn’t as much a problem for me as I love Spanish culture, but many of the staff did not speak English and the Animacion team provided all their entertainment in Spanish which might leave British children a little left out, although ours were able to join in with party dances and the late night pool party. The evening meals in the restaurant were predominantly local dishes geared heavily to seafood and the like. I’ll eat anything but my wife is a fussy eater and if you or your family like to eat nuggets and roast dinners you will not find that available here. My children found there was always one thing they would eat but weren’t spoilt for choice. The room decor is a little dated but who really cares when it’s just a base and you should be out at the beach or by the pool anyway! NEGATIVE The poolside bar does not provide any kind of snack provision such as chips and sandwiches as the tapas and drinks are served from a high end restaurant. This was disappointing as we like to enjoy a beer and some chips by the pool for our lunch. The language barrier with our waitress meant we’d asked for a menu which there was no point receiving as we couldn’t order food to be delivered poolside anyway, but she wasn’t really able to communicate this with us and we sat their waiting for an order we never could have had. But again, we should be learning to speak Spanish better! I’m not entirely sure LoveHolidays researched whether this hotel is suitable for Brits wanting the ‘Brits abroad’ experience so if you want that you’re best sticking to Salou or Benidorm. Avoid if you are not multi cultural, going out of this hotel for anything is like being in a zombie apocalypse where nobody likes you or speaks English... In house is better but you are outcast by rude bar staff and Spanish entertainment all day. Entertainers do try but find comfort in there own and move on quickly. We were all inclusive (so we thought) 11am til 11pm is not all inclusive in my book, not being able to even get a coffee or cold drink before 11 is unacceptable, never experienced that all inclusive ever and Jet2 do not make this clear when booking. No drinks machines to even buy anything either, get some bottles of water and keep in fridge is my tip Bar Staff are rude and the quing is horrendous, with only 2 staff working i felt it a stalling tactic. Every drink have 4 large pieces of ice, another money saving tip from management? Ask for no ice and they look you up and down... Won't serve drinks in big containers, only small so you end up having 2 which leads to extra litter and over run bins around the pool. Why you can't vend cold drinks yourself would cure the waiting times... this is only available in the restaurant and not poolside, why? Main pool is dirty, maintenance spotted jet washing into pool and I didn't see anyone testing the very murky water prior to opening which is possibly why my family had a serious sickness bug which was very unpleasant and so did many guests we spoke to when leaving. Ive rated this hotel at 3 star as i feel 4 star this is not Dated in places although eating area is newly refurbished and our room to, beds were comfy TBF I would recommend upgrading room as the standard does not keep children in a separate room and therefore everyone is together in the room, 2 children sharing a double bed. Air con is very poor and integrated (not a spearate unit you can control) so you can't control it at all. Keep door shut, curtains closed and lights off all day is the best solution to keeping room cold, this needs doing all day and whilst sleeping - very uncomfortable Food OK, not much variety at tea time. Breakfast was best 👌 Be careful with the dodgy Spanish man in the arcade who likes to refuse prizes to your children as ”they have won enough” bearing in mind we probably spent 50 euro a day in there. When confronted... the kids got their prizes - very dodgy Slides were good, the beach and sea I wished we would have gone on more what put me off was you had to pay extra for sun beds (5 euro each), the breeze was nicer on the beach, the poolside was like an oven and uncomfortable at times, extra sun umbrellas 16 euro to buy and they are needed as little shaded areas. 30+ degrees everyday, another money spinner for the hotel. If managed better this hotel could be so much better, maybe its the Spanish way? I won't be returning Cheap and Cheerful holiday all in all, you get what you pay for I guess. Wasn't bad but wasn't great
