Domus Getsemani

First chance to give a review after our extensive travel: We weren't expecting a 5-star accommodation like the Ritz-Carlton for what we paid. The location was good, being close to The Vatican, Cipro & Ottaviano metro stations and a number of restaurants and shops in the tourist area. We were received upon our arrival and the guy was okay. Note the reception isn't manned 24 hours. The room was okay, the bed was okay and the air-conditioning worked. But that's as far as it goes. The room was never attended to for cleaning during our 3-night stay. We requested to take breakfast early at 7:00am as we were attending the Papal audience that morning. A guy showed up at 7:30am and he couldn't keep his opinions to himself, muttering away for minutes on end in Italian (his tone was negative) before he headed off elsewhere :-( On the morning of us checking out, there was a leak from the toilet which started to leak into the main room (ew!) which made us leave the room quickly. If that wasn't bad enough, it was just after 7:30am, we waited for breakfast and a guy went to kick the main entry door in repeatedly, yelling "Open the door!" quite loudly. After explaining to him that the door is lock and it cannot be unlocked, he continued on his rampage. I was expecting that the door would be kicked off its hinges and straight onto me which would have caused injury. He then yelled for the rear glass doors to be opened, which we did. When he entered the breakfast area, his behaviour continued and we went to get our luggage to leave the god-forsaken place without taking our breakfast. We discussed his behaviour and he gave his reasons, which were the traffic conditions. He continued to apologise, explaining that he wasn't angry with us. Why on earth behave like that in front of paying guests???!!! There's no excuse for that! We reluctantly took a quick breakfast and he called a taxi for us. I explained the situation of the room with the leaking toilet and the water leaking onto the main room, and that the towels were placed on the water to make it safe for someone to enter to attend to it. Unfortunately, the emotional and psychological damage was done, the atmosphere was so uncomfortable and we left as quickly as we could. A suggestion: better give this place a BIG miss and find accommodation in the area at more expensive rates.

Poor and unprofessional customer service. If you would like to receive professional, helpful, and friendly customer service, then this establishment cannot and will not provide this to you. You will find that their "reception" or "check-in hours" are basically not adhered to. They keep changing their own policies on the spot when questioned, and generally do not like providing any explanation to any issue being discussed. Avoid if you can.

Hotel pequeño y acogedor, con desayuno completo y variado, ideal para el turista que busca un lugar donde pasar la noche en su visita a Roma. El único inconveniente es que no realizan el aseo en las habitaciones periódicamente mientras uno se hospeda, solo entre cambio de huéspedes. Con excelente ubicación y acceso.

Salve. Ho dormito 2 notti con la mia ragazza. Accoglienza ottima da parte del ragazzo alla reception e del titolare la mattina per la colazione. Stanza accogliente e bella fresca di condizionatore. Nel complesso un'esperienza positiva. Con un'unica sola stortura, il secondo giorno di pernottamento è capitato il seguente episodio: per motivi che non sto qui a spiegare, ma che sono deducibili, per mie necessità, dovetti usare più volte lo sciacquone della toilette, e, ammetto, senza rendermene conto, l'ho usato un numero di volte elevato e con tempi troppo corti fra un utilizzo e l'altro; ammetto il mio errore, e me ne scuso; ad un certo punto infatti, un ragazzo che lavora nella struttura - non so se sia il figlio del titolare - mi bussa alla porta in modo molto veemente, rispondo chiedendo chi è, e lui contro-risponde con altrettanta veemenza, dicendomi che stavo esagerando a usare l'acqua e chiedendomi cosa stesse succedendo, alché io rispondo che sto per aprire la porta, e lui risponde, con un tono anche abbastanza pesante e arrogante, e in pieno stile romanaccio, "Ma de corsa proprio !"; apro e lui ribadisce il concetto, usando anche termini abbastanza volgari che non sto qui a ripetere, anche se una volta entrato si è tranquillizzato e mi ha spiegato la situazione con più calma; io mi sono scusato, e ribadisco che ammetto il mio errore, tuttavia ritengo che il ragazzo abbia usato toni esagerati e inappropriati, e che avrebbe dovuto ribadire la sua ragione in un modo un pò diverso e con termini diversi.
