A Great time the Caribbean at it's best. This hotel was a dream come true for us a great location in Rodney Bay, near the local people, on the beach, near shops and restaurants. The hotel is due to be demolished this year to become a HARD ROCK Hotel....it's a shame as it has a great atomosphere and although some things need tidying up renewing etc it has a speciality....It's hard working staff who work so hard all day everyday to keep you fed and watered...Theyre are very caring and were extremely understanding, patient, and caring towards my daughter who has Downs Syndrome, they couldn't do enough to make her and us happy,,,especially the Reception staff and Alma and he wonderful restaurant staff There are three bars open at varying times and restaurants open for dinner breakfast lunch, the choice especially for breakfast is huge. It's got a poolside bar and it just has a great feeling and vibe a bit of music playing during the day. There is random entertainment on some nights perhaps this could advertised better...but it does a job if you want to stay and chill. Their are trips a plenty via the hotel and excursion company NEXUS...Sunset Party Cruise, Island cruise and Quad Bike (get some practice first) The rooms are ok and though a bit tired they are spacious and have all you might need for a beach holiday. The hotel is popular with Canadians (lovely people) and Americans (also very nice) and Brits, it also hosts Carribbean people who have short weekend breaks (or longer ) at the Spa. Lots of great places to eat Razzamataz Spinnakers Wings and Tings alll within 10-15 minute walk. The beach runs along side the hotel a great walk 20 mins along the golden sand and blue sea, there are some water sports and place to sunbathe and have fun in the shallow water. It's sad as it probably has had its hey day but the hard working staff deserve a shiny new place to work in and carry on promoting the best of the Caribbean. I hope the change doesn't take too long as we would go back there in a heartbeat THANK YOU STARFISH staff and guests for a great time. REMEMBER The Caribbean is about relaxing taking your time, soon come, and chilling...it's not hurry up, stress out...

We spent 1 week at Starfish and had a great time. Some people complain about food and rooms etc . Let me say this is a 3.5* hotel and not a 5* luxury place, so the expectations have to be adjusted to that. The room was absolutely spotless and they cleaned it every day. The food was pretty good and had a good variety, but again, it's not a 5* hotel, so there is no endless variety. We spent Christmas there and dinner included seafood salad, roasted turkey, roasted beef and ham along other delicious items. The location can't be better as we were right on the beautiful beach. You can get beach towels and non- motorized sports equipment for free. Most staff were absolutely amazing, friendly, hardworking and helpful. Thank you. We participated in 3 trips through the hotel and loved them all. You can hike the nearby hill/mountain. There is a path leading up the hill next to the public beach and you can have a nice viewpoint in about 20 min after you start going up. Thanks Starfish and the staff for the unforgettable week. Again, if you're there to see and experience St. Lucia and you're not there for luxury, you won't be disappointed.

The hotel is older and needs updating but clean and nice. The location and beach is superb, and a couple times we walked into town at night for pizza at amici’s restaurant, very short walk. The food at the resort was limited, breakfast had great omelets, lunch was very good too, dinner didn’t have enough to choose from especially if you’re a picky eater. I thought everyone at the resort was very friendly. We did the excursion to the pitons, mud bath, and snorkeling and had a great time, we’d definitely go back

Just wanted to write a quick review about our check in!!! Our driver - Felix - wad amazing! We stopped at Dennery Fishing village to grab a drink and take in the view! Christal was amazing at check in! She was incredibly sweet and everything went smoothly! Our room - while dated - is very clean! We have enough towels, 2 double beds, as requested, and Christal even followed up with a phone call to the room to ensure our room was good! We grabbed a quick bite to eat at the buffet, which has a nice variety, and we are now enjoying a drink at the rooftop patio bar! It's going be a great week!

This resort was absolutely amazing. Read all kinds of negative reviews but that was not our experience. The food was good. In the restaurant our server Alma was so sweet, and our bright spot when we ate there!! Our cleaning lady was Sandra J and was so friendly and did an amazing job in our room. She was quick, and attended to our room. She always had a smile for you. The front desk clerk Christal was so accommodating and knew anything about the hotel. She was clear, concise and knew everyone’s name when they came to the front desk. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It’s so sad that it will be closed on 30 April. Thank you starfish for being an amazing place to stay and made our holiday the best stay ever!! I will be back to Saint Lucia.

I just came back from the Starfish and had an amazing time! This was one of the best vacations I’ve had in a long time, and so I felt compelled to write a review. This hotel is so quaint and so much charm and character! It is an older style hotel, but it has that quintessential Caribbean vibe. It’s small enough to feel cozy. The rooms were clean and safe. No significant complaints. I had an amazing view of the ocean. The beach is right on site and it is phenomenal! I think this section of the beach is nicer than the sections in front of the other, more expensive hotels down the strip, including the Sandals resort. The breakfast and lunch at the outside beach grill were good and you won't go hungry. The Rodney Bay Area is very safe and welcoming to tourists. It is nearby to walk to local restaurants and fairly inexpensive to get local food if you get bored with the hotel food. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only comment here is that they were sometimes short-staffed because some staff were leaving for other jobs given the upcoming closure. I also met a wonderful group of new friends while staying at the Starfish. Overall, I had a fantastic vacation that I will always remember and treasure! If you have realistic expectations and are not expecting a 5 star experience, I think you will love the Starfish. I would go back if the Starfish if it were still going to be there. I feel sad that it is closing. I wish it weren't. I hope that all the staff find new jobs. Thanks again for the memories Starfish! ️

My adult son and I were due to stay at the Starfish last week, as we’d booked this vacation through Air Canada Vacations. This was our first vacation in over 10 years! We have never been to St Lucia before. After a 3 hour shuttle transfer from the airport to Rodney Bay, we arrived. It was late in the evening. After check in we requested some assistance with our baggage. The bellboy was an elderly man who immediately made a point of sharing with us, without any shame, how he didn’t expect a tip from us, because everyone says they’ll tip and they never do, and then they blank him the next day. This moaning from him continued all the way across the hotel and up to the third floor where our room was. He then decided to announce to us, as he opened the hotel room door, that we would probably complain about the room, as everyone staying at the Starfish complains about the rooms! I’m a lady in my 50s and my son is 24, we were literally stunned into silence. Well, he wasn’t kidding. The room was awful. We already made a point of emailing ahead to Starfish reservations to request two double beds instead of one king-size bed, because we are a mother and son travelling. My email was acknowledged by Starfish reservations. So you can imagine my horror and the embarrassment that was faced us when they’d deliberately gave us a room with a one bed. The room was mediocre at best. The decor was decades out of date and tired looking. The room was also small, and not in any way the “deluxe” that we had been led to believe when we booked it. The bathroom was also extremely small with cracked walls, old paint, and one towel. The room door was an effort to close and lock, and everything oozed shabbiness. The photos offered on the website are extremely misleading. The hotel is not like how it appears! My son and I returned to reception to raise our concerns that at the very least we needed either a second room, or an upgrade, or even a portable cot for my son to sleep on because we couldn’t share the same bed. Reception couldn’t have been more disinterested if they tried. They didn’t want to help us. They had no interest in wanting to help us, and on top of that were pretty darn rude. My son even said if they could find some spare pillows and blankets, he’d make himself a bed on the floor, naturally I was concerned about this because it was a tiled floor. Well the woman in reception at the time, who claimed to not be the manager and therefore couldn’t make any decisions, said it was against the rules to allow anyone to sleep on the floor. So we asked about a roll out bed, to which she literally left the reception and walked off and hid in the back room. We finally spoke with a manager, well a man came out from the back office, but who is was I’ll never know, as he was belligerent and not going to help us resolve this situation either! We decided to take a breath rethink the situation considering it was late in the evening and we had travelled 15 hours to get to this

Start of holiday review, day two. St Lucia has a small airport and it’s so easy getting through it. The British Airways agency staff (reps) are visible as soon as you exit on your right. We were quickly shown to our transfer mini bus and we were warned about the long transfer (almost 2 hours drive due to some traffic) and bumpy ride (nice way to see some of the island). The hotel seemed smaller than we imagined but this is not a negative. Crystal (confident and friendly) on reception saw to us on arrival and we paid our tax (6 USD per night, per person) and a 200 USD using a credit card and this is refundable at the end of your stay. The rooms were as we expected, ‘3 star standard’ and also taking into consideration the price point. Comfy beds, clean white linen and towels, towels changed daily. Iron and ironing board, hair dryer in top drawer, FREE safety deposit box, coffee machine that can also be used just for hot water, fridge with smalls bottles of water and this is replaced daily, TV, good air con unit. The decor is tired and the rooms smell a little fusty but I think this is because of the air con units. Bathroom is dated and the hot and cold taps in shower take some getting used to, no plugs in basin or bath. Also, all electric plugs are UK 3 pin so no need for adapters. I believe all rooms face the sea front. The main bar is in the lobby and the main restraint is at the side which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The snack bar is at the side of the pool. The Italian restaurant is opposite reception, so are the toilets. I think the oriental restaurant is part of the main restaurant (I think, not used it yet). Pool bar as it is and there is also a very small bar above the snack bar which is open on an evening but it has strange seats and layout for around 10 people. Excellent staff, Alma and Patricia are so welcoming and so are the rest of the team. Different characters, some more friendly than others (not a negative). The breakfast is 4 star, variety, quality and service. My personal favourite meal, plenty of seats, no queues, amazing omelettes and crispy HASHBROWNS!!! Plenty of fresh fruit. Lunch by the pool bar is seated and a waitress service, small menu but all very delicious. Wraps, salads, burgers, fries. Not used the buffet yet for lunch. Dinner, I can see how some might not be that amazed by the variety and standard. I’m a bit fussy and don’t eat meat on the bone, chicken is drum sticks and thigh, pasta a bit dry with limited sauce but the soup, rice dishes, select of salad is acceptable. The drinks are good, (no Heineken lager) but the wine, sparking wine and cocktails is very good. You only get straws from the main bar in the lobby on an evening. There is also water and coffee available from the lobby from around 6am I think. The beach is 4 star and you can put a lounger from the hotel by the sea but there’s limited shade snd it is very hot. The pool area is not as busy as you think and there’s plenty o

My husband and I stayed here in Oct of 2023. It was off season so the place was very quiet. We really enjoyed the entire week spent here. The beach is gorgeous, the staff is friendly and the room was comfortable. We stayed in a deluxe ocean view king room which was huge. The room was very clean and housekeeping comes everyday to clean it. The food was good and the Piton beer is awesome! We tried some restaurants just outside the hotel as well which were really good. St Lucia is safe so we did leave the resort a few times and we had no concerns. The only thing that was a little annoying were the beach hustlers. I understand that's the hustle but they were a little too much approaching you everyday. If that doesn't bother you then you have nothing to be worried about! We do recommend this resort and we will return in the future. Safe travels!
