We have stayed twice at the Hilton, and strongly agree with all of the positive comments regarding this hotel. We had a King Corner Room for each stay, and I wanted to describe the differences between the two. The rooms ending in 20 (1520, 1620, etc.) were the larger of the two and faced north and east, with primary views of the Mayo Civic Center. The rooms ending in 02 (1502, 1602, etc.) were slightly smaller and faced north and west. These rooms have spectacular views of the entire Mayo Clinic downtown location. Either room location is great and I would agree to have access to the Executive Lounge during your stay. It is worth the small extra amount for this access. Again, this is by far one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in, particularly in this country.

Beyond my comfortable and clean room and bathroom, the useful in-room exercise equipment and great gym, and the surprisingly delicious food I ordered from the bar, my experience at this hotel surpassed my expectations when a manager helped me through a difficult situation. I parked one stormy evening in a Starbucks space under the hotel when all else was full. I intended to move my car the next morning before Starbucks reopened, but forgot to do so before catching the Mayo Clinic shuttle. When I called the hotel, I eventually received a call back from Nick. Because I had back-to-back appointments, I couldn't return to move my car. Nick drove to the clinic, picked up my keys from me at the front entrance, moved my car, and returned my keys and a nice note to my room. He also texted me a photograph of my keys in my room. Nick's willingness to go above and beyond is commendable, and he is a primary reason I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Mayo.

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut, es ist sehr praktisch, einen Arzt aufzusuchen. Frühstück ist auch ok. Beim Check-out haben wir die Parkgebühr von 28 US-Dollar berechnet. Wo sind wir zum Auto gekommen, haben die Rechnung genommen und sind zur Rezeption gegangen, um es zu erklären. Die Rezeption sagte, dass es falsch war. Es wurde an Ort und Stelle durchgestrichen. Ungefähr drei Stunden nach dem Verlassen der Stadt zog die China Merchants Bank 28 US-Dollar ab, ungeduldig, die China Merchants Bank anzurufen und darauf hinzuweisen, dass die Kosten nicht existieren, stimmte die China Merchants Bank zu, dies zu koordinieren. Das Ergebnis wartet noch.

Rezeption nicht im Untergrundlobby, sondern im zweiten Stock. ”Vordertür” nicht leicht offensichtlich. Parkplatz nach Website verfügbar, ist es in benachbarten Parkplatz und eine separate Gebühr. Zimmer geräumig, gut ausgestattet mit vielen elektrischen Ausgängen, TV, Telefon, Sofa, kleine aber adäquate Schrank. Badezimmer, schön beleuchtet, sehr funktional Dusche, Toiletteneinrichtungen, gute Handtücher und Kleidung. Window-Ansicht über Parkplatz und Stadt in der Entfernung.

Fabelhaftes Hotel & Personal , & große Lage. Dusche könnte mit einem Sitz- und Grabbar am Dusche Ende & eine abnehmbare Dusche, & Grab Spuren im WC, um es für Menschen mit Behinderungen geeigneter zu machen. Und die Kraft unterstützt/selbst Öffnungsräume/Türen im ganzen Hotel. Shame Bar war nicht geöffnet. Zimmerbünsen hätten mit Leerlauf regelmäßiger getan werden können. Die Zimmer wären besser mit einer freundlichen Kaffeemaschine als Percolator, plus Kaffee in den Zimmern war nicht groß, glücklich, ich brachte mein eigenes. Aber neben diesen wenigen Dingen, ein großes Hotel, Personal, Frühstück & Kaffee in Frühstücksraum waren fantastisch. Die Gäste waren alle sehr freundlich und sehr hilfreich. Sicherlich besser als das letzte Hotel, das ich in Rochester MN geblieben habe.

I traveled with family and we had 3 rooms: 2x Kings and 1 Double. We chose the Kahler Grand for a number of reasons: proximity to the Mayo Clinic, the parking (valet), and teh ability to get a room at a discounted ”Patient” rate. One of the King rooms and the Double were all very nicely outfitted and seemed very much comfortable for the stay. The King room I was in was old and had not been updated like the other King. The thermostat was a simple dial and it simply didn't work. I could dial it up for heat and...nothing. Two or so hours later it would come on blasting heat. Try to cool down and nope - the heat would stay on a bit longer, but the cool air wouldn't come on for a few hours later. Maintenance came to check on it and said they had to replace the entire HVAC motor. I was on my last night by then and didn't want to change rooms so I deferred and just suffered through another night. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was horrific. When you opened the door to teh room the sink was immediately to your right. To get to the toilet you walked straight through. It was very tight as the door (when opened) partially blocked the toilet and totally blocked the bath. To get in or out of the tub/shower you had to swing the door back or forth and wedge yourself between the toilet and wall. The tub was small and very slippery, and the water controls were not very responsive and were hard to turn. The bath towels were extremely worn and very small, not even the size of a regular bath towel in my opinion. I was able to see the room directly below mine during the course of my stay and it had the same set up, s hopefully they have the intent to refit these rooms at some point. Our first night in we ate at the hotel restaurant, and while the staff there seemed a bit overwhelmed we still had courteous service and the food was good. The biggest thing the Kahler has going for it has to be their Staff. From ZamZam at the front desk, to maintenance, to housekeeping (kept us stocked with coffee!), to the valets - EVERYONE was as kind and helpful as could be. I didn't meet a single person that wasn't ready to fall over themselves to help out or give advice on the local area. The subway level to the Mayo Clinic was easily accessed from inside the hotel, and that made it very nice as well. Yes, the hotel is showing it's age and needs some polishing BUT I would stay there again if I had to go back...I would just be sure I got a room that wasn't like my ”old” one! Thank you to the Staff and management for making the stay nice despite the circumstances of our visit!

Ich habe hier Dutzende von Zeiten geblieben. Dieser Aufenthalt hatten wir keine Wärme in unserem Zimmer. Am Checkout sagte ich dem Front Desk, er sollte die Wartungskontrolle unserem Zimmer Heizgerät haben. Ich hatte ein Bild des Thermostat und zeigte ihm die Lufttemperatur im Zimmer war ein kühl 62 Grad. Er antwortete, sie hätten gestern die Kessel ausgeschaltet, weil es draußen warm war. Ich sagte ihm, dass es lächerlich ist und fragte mich, warum sie nicht wieder zum Abend aufgeschaltet wurden. Als ich ihm sagte, wir wachen Mitte der Nacht und wir waren kalt, sagte er einfach, wir hätten den Vordertisch anrufen und sie hätten uns einen Raumheizer gebracht. Ich sagte ihm, dass’s lächerlich und 62-63 Grad ist nicht akzeptabel. Er bot keine andere Lösung, Entschuldigung oder irgendeine Kreditart an. Das ist sehr enttäuschend, da die meisten meiner anderen Aufenthalte hier nur gut waren.
