DO NOT STAY HERE Booked a room here for two nights through ***********. Upon arrival the AC was not working and wouldn't be fixed for at least a week according to the front desk associate. The front desk associate cancelled our reservation and stated we would receive the full refund through ***********. Contacted Booking up a week later for the refund status and they stated that the reservation was cancelled and they are waiting for a manager to sign and return the cancellation slip from Motel 6. Booking informed myself that they were instructed by Motel 6 that this would process the following night, and that Booking would have the refund issued in 3-5 Business days. 22 Days later - Still no Refund. Contacted booking, they stated that they are still waiting for the signed confirmation that states we didn't stay there. They suggested we call Motel 6 and do their job for them to get the signed document emailed over. I called Motel 6 and they were EXTREMELY RUDE. Stating, "MY MANAGER RESPONDS TO ALL EMAILS NIGHTLY!" and "WE'VE ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMS WITH BOOKING. THIS IS A BOOKING ISSUE AND YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM!" After asking for their managers name and to provide some sort of assistance, Emily answered and stated that herself and another manager respond to all emails that day. She stated its a booking issue and to contact them up." Very unhelpful. So I contacted booking up again to see where my funds were. Here's the breakdown. Booking pays Motel 6 through a virtual credit card for a guests stay. At the time of check-in, that virtual card is charged, and Motel 6 receives the funds. However, since the reservation was cancelled, the funds were never used from the virtual card as the balance remains the same. Booking stated even though they still have the funds, they cannot refund anything until a confirmation is received from Motel 6 stating that we didn't stay there. Even though if we would of stayed there, the virtual card would have a $0.00 balance. Booking stated that they reached out multiple times to Motel 6 and have not received a response. I asked booking what would happen if Motel 6 never responds. Booking stated then I would never receive a refund. Booking wants me to contact Motel 6 and chase them down for the confirmation, and Motel 6 wants me to deal only with Booking. I shouldn't have to track down anything. If they can't communicate with each other and follow policy, Booking shouldn't offer this Hotel on it's platform. This is ridiculous from both parties. I'm blowing the whistle on this one. BBB, Corporate, whoever I have to go to. Unacceptable.
