A last minute booking 1st hotel that came up on the screen sounds perfect and we weren't disappointed, arrived early hours of the morning greeted by a lovely man who insisted on carrying my bag upto our room. Hotel over 2 floors, ground and 1st floor plus 1 room on a 3rd floor which we were able to use on our final day for a shower as we checked out at 11 am and we weren't leaving until 11 pm. Our room was really nice we had an extra bedroom within the apartment it wasn't for our use but great for a family, definitely get the air conditioning it's 7 euros a day and is worth every cent but it was exceeding 30 degrees every day. The room was very modern a fabulous shower room really big and all tastefully tiled and very clean ( cleaning lady is awesome) towels changed every 2 days and sheets every 3. The room is cleaned and tidied every day to an excellent standard. The bedroom is all fitted with lovely modern furniture and the beds are very comfortable . We had plugs either side of our bed very useful for phones, one on the dressing table and one for the full size kettle with coffee, tea, sugar and cups, can't beat brew facilities, oh yes and a fridge too all included plus a safe deposit box all included in your room price. We were lucky we had a great double balcony due to our apartment being a 2 bedroomed. The Outlook was the main road right in front of the hotel which was very busy as its one road straight into rhodes Town so there were plenty of buses easily accessible, I loved sitting out people watching and eying up the dresses in the large clothes and gift shops over the road. So a lovely ,comfortable, clean room happy we are, we had bed and breakfast we like to go out for tea but we did eat twice in the hotel, what a lovely restaurant very open and spacious and extremely friendly staff, breakfast was table service, options full English, scrambled eggs, omelette or Greek yoghurt nuts and honey all really good, included we were given 4 slices of toast, 2 croissants, honey, jam and butter a big glass of fresh orange juice coffee or tea a fabulous start to the day. There's a great choice on the menu for evening meals Greek traditional and others ie pizza, pasta etc plus home maid chips mmmmmmm, the bar is well stocked and a mythos ( lager ) an extremely welcome drink on hot evenings . When we booked we new there wasn't a pool but we love the sea so a 10 minute walk was OK to the beach, however on investigation we found the sea a nice private pebble area with shady spots for that midday sun 2 mins away behind the dress shop, we spent every day there, we watched the water sports attached to the hotel to the right I will add photos. So to sum up a fab holiday in a lovely hotel with great hosts oh and have to mention manager George as I promised I would lol

We stayed here last year. Couldn’t wait to come back. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Any problems are sorted straight away. Breakfast made to order and sets you up for the day. Evening meals are traditional Greek food which is outstanding. Laundry service available if asked for. Thank you Christos & family who work extremely hard along with George to help you enjoy your stay. We will be back again next year xx

Lovely small Greek hotel well positioned on bus routes. Good choice of breakfast and a good evening menu. Hotel is well looked after and bedroom was very clean with a good size balcony and big bathroom. A bit of road noise at the front of the property but this didn’t bother us. Many good restaurants within a few minutes walk and Rhodes town a short bus ride or love walk if your feeling energetic. My wife and I had a brilliant holiday.

We’re just back from our 11 night holiday at the Hippocampus hotel and really enjoyed our stay. Reviews contradicted each other so thought we’d put our thought together to help other travellers. Good points: we arrived at 11pm at night and the night porter was very helpful and friendly. He showed us to our room, turned on the aircon as he asked if we wanted it, and said to speak to George in morning for payment. Breakfast was good. The young man who does the breakfast service is quite endearing and explained our options and always gave us good service. The breakfast options although few, were always fresh and hot. Breakfast was between 8-11am so you never felt rushed and there was always a table. Rooms are adequate in size. We were in room 201. It had a little balcony which was suitable for our needs. Bathroom was okay too, clean towels, shower was a bit ‘old’ and leaked a bit onto the bathroom floor but it didn’t cause us any problems. Always plenty of hot water and powerful too. Cleaner was very thorough and room kept very nicely for our stay. Sheets and towels changed regularly. Hotel location was perfect for us. Close to beach, bars and restaurants at the quieter end of town. As there was no pool, we took advice from fellow holidaymakers for a couple of pool days at the Villa De Mar apartment complex resort just down the road. It is cheaper than beach sunbeds (€5 at Villa De Mar) and a good option if you miss a pool. Bus stop pretty much right outside hotel and €2.5 euro each to Rhodes town- just be patient at busy times as some buses are ‘full bus’ on front and you need to wait for the next one. Taxis can be hailed down and are approx 10€ to Rhodes town.#You can pay contactless on all buses even back from Rhodes town and dont need to get tickets as stated at bus stops# Not so good points: we found George quite hard to track down over the first few days to pay our taxes and aircon bill. Initially we saw George the first morning after arriving late the night before to pay our bill, but George had a problem with taking a card payment due to technical issues with his card machine and wanted cash. We agreed to get cash out, but didn’t see George again for the next 3 days as we were out before he got in and we missed him as he’d gone home before we were back later in the day. We arrived home on our 4th day to a note under the door to say that we still needed to settle our bill. On waiting around the next morning, George still had the same ‘card payment problems’ so we got cash out, as were other people also asked to do. Regarding Aircon; we chose aircon €7 per night but on reflection probably didn’t really need it as the rooms have got metal electric shutters to keep the heat out. We did not find these until a few days into our holiday, so near that in mind as it was September and you may not need aircon. There are tea and coffee making facilities and initially you are provided with teabags and coffee /sugar sachets BUT these are

Don’t expect luxury with a 2 star hotel but for what the hotel stands for it’s very solid. The rooms are cleaned every day and the cleaner is friendly. They are pretty cozy and visually appealing with a nice balcony. Breakfast is served by a pleasant gentleman who despite doing the service alone gets it done quite well. The breakfast itself is tasty we have had full English every day and it has everything you need to set you up for your day. The staff I have seen mixed opinions about but from what we have experienced they have been nice. My only complaint really is the Wi-Fi we found it a little slow - it can be good sometimes but other times it disconnects and is slow to load so I think this is an area the hotel could improve on. But we have enjoyed our stay here - it’s not far from Ixia beach but is by bus stops to go to Rhodes and onwards - be prepared for some full buses. Overall, as a base hotel, it is good value and you can’t go wrong! You definitely get what you pay for and it was a bargain for us.

The good: Location. Within walking distance of the beach, bars and restaurants, and a few mini markets. Private balcony/terrace for each room. Air conditioning is available for a charge. Fridge in room. Bed comfortable. Plenty of hanging/storage space for clothes. The bad: Rooms are tired and not maintained. We had cracked tiles on the bedroom floor, the door handle for the fridge cupboard was missing, the toilet leaked and the extractor fan was broken. Have noticed from replies to other reviews that maintenance is done out of season, but guests should have the same quality of stay regardless of when they stay, so it’s not really acceptable. The bathroom. The shower was tiny. There was a lack of hot water most days and the water pressure was terrible. Mould around the shower tray. No extractor fan as it was broken. Toilet leaked. It’s noisy. The cleaner/other staff woke me up from around 6.30am each day, not great when on a holiday. The staff weren’t all that friendly. Most seemed miserable. The breakfast: just awful. We had breakfast the first two days but it was so dire we went without. Sausages were grey when we had the full breakfast. Omelettes on the second day looked like they had been kicked up and down the kitchen. Orange juice on second day was watered down. Guy who serves breakfast wasn’t great, he actually dropped some food and cutlery on to my partner’s lap when clearing the table and didn’t even acknowledge this or apologise. Service at dinner: service was slow and not very friendly, so we only ate there once. A lot of items were out of stock and we were told after we had ordered, so we asked to see the menu again and the waiter didn’t bother bringing it over, we had to get it for ourselves. The drinks are expensive in comparison to other hotels within walking distance. We’ve stayed in 2*accommodation before that has been far superior.

The cleaner shouted at me for taking a towel she was pointing her finger and telling me I’d stollen and I was very bad , unbelievable in public too , the towel was in my room ( our towels were dirty as they only get changed every 3 days ) Breakfast was okay but you never get what you ordered and very small potions , jam is like gold dust Hotel very basic we really missed a pool I would never stay here again Avoid if you want a nice peaceful holiday I don’t understand the reviews what say a good friendly hotel , quite a few who we spoke to we’re having problems with the staff as well
