What a welcome addition to the Rhinelander hotels! We were delighted to find the Cobblestone Hotel & Suites was open for our Christmas holiday trek to visit our family in Wisconsin. In our many trips back, we have stayed at all of the other hotels multiple times with very mixed results, some horrendous, some average. After looking at the website and photos of the rooms, we were excited to find it would be open. Since we were staying 4 nights, we decided to splurge and get the single king extended stay suite, which has a kitchen and separate bedroom. While it costs a little more than we normally pay for a suite at one of the other hotels, it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a lovely spotless lobby, welcoming desk agent, and a seamless check-in. There were very few guests as they had just opened one or two weeks prior to our arrival. We took the elevator up to our room and entered. To the right is a kitchen(ette) with a 3-burner glass cooktop, microwave, small sink and full-sized fridge. There were cabinets on top and bottom with all the dishes, cookware and bowls you could possibly need. The bathroom was to the left, fairly typical with a long marble vanity, toilet and bath/shower. The water pressure was amazing! The living room had a table with two chairs, a sofa for two, chair, cabinet for clothes and a large flat screen TV. There was a huge set of windows that let in massive amounts of light. In the bedroom was a very comfy queen-sized bed where they offer you two kinds of pillows, soft and more firm, racks to hang clothes, large flat screen TV, and again a huge window to let in a lot of light. Everything in the room was immaculately clean and well put together. Granted, we were probably the first people to stay in the room, so I do hope they keep up the great work and maintain the rooms. They offer a hot breakfast in the morning, but we had family events each day and didn’t check it out. There is an indoor pool and while not huge, it looked really nice. There is a restaurant next door (a 2-minute walk), that serves an excellent breakfast and lunch where we had a few family meals. Overall, I cannot say enough nice things about this Cobblestone Hotel & Suites. The staff greeted us every day, asked what they could do for us, which gave such a positive atmosphere. There is no question we will book this over and over again. If I could give this hotel more than a 5 ”star” rating, I would.
