Kings Park Hotel

Avoid this horror show of a ‘hotel’. It is very unclean, most everything there is broken (e.g. the taps, toilet roll holder, shower head etc.) and when we did ask for something to be replaced (a torn bedsheet) it was replaced with something far worse (one that was stained and had cigarette burns on it). The photos and description that are used to promote this hotel are highly misleading - there’s no bar, no restaurant, and no cooked breakfast. The breakfast in fact consisted of some pieces of bread, a few yoghurts you couldn’t eat as there were no small spoons, some plastic wrapped products that looked awful, and coffee in a dark, dirty and freezing cold room. There’s also no housekeeping so if you do unfortunately end up staying more than one night, nothing in the room will be made up, cleaned and/or replaced. There’s no staff around the majority of the time (including at night so it’s not really a safe place to stay) - instead, it seems to be ran by two men who spend most of their time, when they are there, either standing or sitting on the street outside smoking. In summary, it was an absolutely appalling experience.

The entrance is not very welcoming and the first thing I learned was that not all rooms receive Wi-Fi. The room was comfortable- good bed, large television, and tea making facilities. There was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Attention to detail was lacking, eg wires hanging down from back of the television, plastic tumblers (one with a sticky label half removed). Breakfast was basic but adequate. The location is central. There is no hotel parking but a nearby public car park if free from 4pm to 10am.

The room was good, comfy bed, warm and a Smart TV. Disappointed as thought this was advertised as a hotel the bar and evening restaurant were not open. Breakfast was basic continental. Location was very good near a lovely park and very central to the town centre and theatre.
