Blue Ocean the Fern Resort & Spa Ganpatipule

The resort is located in Malgund, a little ahead of Ganpatipule. The stay area is different and beach access area is different, you have to cross the street to access beach. The beach area is beautiful and scenic. It has a cafe and well planned sitting arrangement near beach. One can sit for hours peacefully and enjoy the beach view. The stay area is walkable and all the main areas can accessed, or you have buggy option too. Breakfast had variety of spread, but lacked the taste. But the restaurant food is good. Rooms are clean, and have all necessary amenities. Not as spacious compared to what they charge.

This resort is located at the end of Ganpatipule,near Malgud beach. The best part ,the resort has a private beach. We sat in a shack with our feet up overlooking the beach and enjoyed excellent food while admiring the wonderful view of the sunset . The staff and service was excellent!! Villas were specious with a private garden. Very hygienic and well maintained Spa. You will get buggies to access the huge property! Must visit for the weekend with family and friends!

Visited the resort for 2 nights and overall had a mixed experience — the property itself is beautifully designed with a fantastic ambience, but it seriously falls short of expectations for the price charged. Property & Ambience: The resort grounds are very well developed, lush, and scenic — truly gives a premium feel when you enter. The private beach access is the only standout and unique attraction that makes the property special. The small Ganesh temple inside the resort, surrounded by greenery, adds a peaceful touch. Rooms (Villa Stay): The rooms were below standard for the tariff charged. Villas are old and not up to modern Fern standards. Bathrooms are outdated, lighting is dim, and basic fittings like lights and exhaust fans were not working. The indirect mood lighting looks nice but is insufficient for actual use. Overall, not value for money considering the high cost per night. Food & Restaurants: The restaurant offers a good variety and the food was genuinely tasty and well-prepared. The staff in both restaurants were extremely courteous and helpful. There are two dining areas — one inside the resort and another at the private beach: From 12 PM to 3 PM, you get veg/non-veg thalis. From 3 PM to 11 PM, they serve starters and drinks right at the beach — a great setup for relaxing evenings. Beach & Location: The private beach has a nice vibe but the water isn’t as clean or blue as Aare–Ware Beach nearby (20–25 mins drive). Ganpatipule Temple is just 10–15 mins (4–5 km) away. Connectivity Issues: The biggest disappointment was zero mobile and internet connectivity throughout the stay. There is no network coverage for any provider inside the property, and the in-room Wi-Fi worked for barely 30 minutes total in two days — unacceptable for such an expensive resort. This makes even basic communication (voice or Wi-Fi calls) almost impossible. Service: All staff members were very polite and eager to help — service quality was genuinely good despite infrastructure issues. Verdict: While the property ambience, private beach, and staff hospitality were great, the resort fails badly in room quality, connectivity, and value for money. A pleasant stay only if you’re visiting for photography or beach relaxation — otherwise, it doesn’t justify the cost or Fern brand name. ⭐ Overall Rating: 2.5 / 5 ❌ Not recommended — except for the private beach experience.
