Great authentic Maldives island. A bit rainy and windy, but it did not stop us doing any activitu. Totally safe and lots of hidden places to explore. Hotel staff was very nice and friendly, the manager really went extra mile to make us best experience. My daughter made a friend with Jonny, the parrot.

Die Lage ist erstaunlich. Das ist nur ein Mann, der sehr nett mit uns war. Das Zimmer war groß und sauber. Der Hafen war so nah.

Ich war zwei Wochen in diesem Hotel. Mein Zimmer 204 lag an einer Ecke, also keine Nachbarn auf beiden Seiten und ein schönes Fenster, durch das die Nachmittagssonne hereinkam. Die Klimaanlage funktioniert gut und ist leise. Das Bett ist bequem und das Badezimmer ist recht modern und verfügt über eine Dusche mit gutem Wasserdruck. Wasser wird in zwei Glasflaschen serviert, die Sie in der Nähe der Rezeption so oft auffüllen können, wie Sie möchten. Kein Plastik, kein Müll! Der Bikini-Strand ist zwei Minuten zu Fuß entfernt und das Hotel stellt ein Handtuch zur Verfügung, damit Sie ihn genießen können. Das günstigste Restaurant des Atolls liegt drei Stufen von der Unterkunft entfernt. Es gibt einen Billardtisch, den Sie frei nutzen können. Der Ort ist sehr ruhig. Das einzige Geräusch, das Sie hören, kommt von dem riesigen Generator, der Rasdhoo mit Strom versorgt. Das Geräusch des Motors ist gleichmäßig, sodass man sich daran gewöhnen kann. Es ist nicht wie Lärm, der Verkehr erzeugt. Übrigens sind die meisten Fahrzeuge auf dem Atoll elektrisch und es gibt keinen Hund, also bellt auch nichts!

We are just back from a fantastic week in Rasdhoo where we lodged at Club Gabbiano. I really wish I could give a higher mark to this hotel because in the end we had such a good time, but there are some things that I really have to mention for the other fellow travellers. HIGHS The location is the best on the island, hands down: right on the beach. The two best rooms (601 and 701) as well as the restaurant/breakfast room on the terrace have amazing views of the bikini beach.Our room was very big with a lovely balcony with bean bags to lounge on, we used it every day, it was really worth the little extra price! Iti is very basic, way more basic than it looked in the pictures but I have no complaints at all (you also get a water boiler, plenty of instant coffee and a fridge and filtered water every day). Airco is temperamental but it worked fine for us. The beds are super comfortable, lovely soft sheets and nice pillows so sleep quality was amazing. They give you plenty of shower and beach towels, all you have to do is ask (mindful of the environment of course, but they will not skimp on giving you fresh ones at all!). The staff of the hotel was super attentive. I didn't catch any names but: The person who manages the whataspp chat: whatever we asked to organize or clarify he was always promptly answering, always kind with a solution even when we kept changing our mind, really really great service (if you need anything also for the booking or the speedboat, don't email just whatsapp!). I had no idea if WE actually met this guy at the hotel (we jokingly called him ”the chatbot” :-)) but HE was great. Also the other guys at the hotel (sorry I didn't catch any names) the one organising the excursiones (which we called ”the artist” because he painted all the colorful drawings around the hotel and beach restaurant and was playing the guitar in the lobby) and the guy minding the reception (called ”the guy with the ponytail”) were super kind and amazing to deal with. Thanks guys, you really bumped the rating up! LOWS The hotel simply does not look like the pictures: apparently the structure was built in 2019 and considering that it should have been empty for quite a long time during the pandemic, it looks like it has been hit by a hurricane. The place is really not well maintained. It looked shabby and ran down. The reception was messy and unkempt, the common areas barely kept together. Building on a tiny island is not easy (and we have been to other local islands as well so we have comparisons) but this hotel has either been built in a rush or not mended at all. It is ok for a little hotel in a local island to look simple but this was beyond it: it was not cared for. The open bathrooms are a disaster: they do not look exotic just shabby. The idea was good but the execution is not ok. Our shower didn't drain properly so the entire bathroom floor was constantly soggy and swampy. From the minute you walk through the orante wooden front doors you can tell this was a well looked after place. All amenities were at hand including outdoor showers and foot taps. There are also sunbed/loungers in the garden area for those after a suntan without going to the nearby beach. We recieved a really warm welcome from Nxaam who went out of his way to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. It was very apparent his priority was to ensure we had a nice stay, he provided an outstanding level of service, which includes transfering all our luggage to & from the Harbour area for the Speed Boat from/to Male. We had two rooms booked both of which were very modern, each with hot water shower, plenty of towels, in fact when we arrived Nxaam quickly provided us with good quality beach towels as we simply dropped off our luggage and headed straight for the nearby ( 5- 8 minutes walk) ”BikinI” beach designated for tourists. The Beach was spotless with plenty of free sun beds/loungers. Back to Beach Cottage, there was a plentyfull supply of botteled drinking water readily available. Even fridges in each room to keep it nice and chilled. If you ran out of anything there was a small supply held in the lobby you could help yourself to to replenish any water bottles or bathroom bits and pieces. The rooms were immaculately presented and comfortable. There were plenty of choices for eating out nearby and all within 5 minute walking distance. The island of 1200 population is not large and can be wlaked around in a very short time. Back to the resurants we used the Shallow Lagoon and the Lemon Drop both offering a varied menue of local, Indean, Thai and European dishes. lots of choice for any discerning customer. So a massive Thank You to Nxaam for making us feel really welcome for providing such a high standard of accommodation for such a good rate - very much great value for money. Wir verbrachten 5 Nächte in Ras Village und genossen einen ruhigen Aufenthalt. Unser Zimmer war geräumig mit neuen AC und nettem Frühstück. Das Hotel-Host Mujah ist sehr hilfsbereit, bietet uns viele Aktivitäten. 2 Minuten vom Bikini-Paradies-Strand entfernt. Snorkeling Kits kostenlos.
