Le Widor

This was my first time in Quebec City and I can't say enough about staying at Le Widor. The room was impeccably clean and extremely comfortable. The location is perfect.. just steps from Rue Cartier with dozens of restaurants, shops, and cafe choices and just a short walk from Old Quebec. Sofie did an excellent job of making me feel welcomed and at home. I would definitely stay there again!

We had a lovely 3-night stay at Le Widor. The home is charming and very clean, and breakfast was very tasty. The neighborhood is perfect - near the Plains of Abraham and close enough that we could walk to the Citadel and Old Quebec. It is a nice quiet residential neighborhood with many restaurants and shops within walking distance, located away from the touristy areas but still within walking distance (for us) of the local sites. Best of all is the proprietor, Sophie, who gave us a map and orientation when we checked in, and who is very warm and personable. We would happily stay here again if we come back to Quebec City.

After a 7 day Boston to Quebec City cruise at sea, we checked in to The Widor! What was a perfect trip was topped off with 2 days of perfect hospitality by Sophie and her staff. The Widor was located centrally to everything. The furnishings and feel of the environment was excellent all around and the staff as well! We highly recommend The Widor!

Le Widor is a splendid b&b and Sophie is a wonderful host whose advice on what to see and do in Quebec City and where to eat made the visit much more interesting and educational and fun. The location is excellent to walk to the old city, parks, museums and historic sites, and also well served by public transportation if the weather doesn’t cooperate. The breakfast was different each day and delicious every day. I plan to visit again.

Sophie has an excellent touch as she's renovated Le Widor's structure with modern comforts, which complement its 20th century character. The house is pricelessly located, outside of the Old City away from the crowds but just a 10 min walk from the walls, on the Grandes Alles Est. St. Jean and Cartier Streets, and the Plains of Abraham are steps away (we ran for exercise multiple times, to the track, the Citadel, and on many a tree-lined street)! If you don't know where you should eat lunch or dinner, Sophie has an exceptional list of many places, a couple of which we had the pleasure of enjoying. We did eat delicious, homemade 3-course breakfasts the three mornings we stayed with her, and although I loved them, next time I would challenge myself to try some of the other neighborhood offerings, just for a change. We also met another lovely couple while in the common dining room, and from that rich conversation (including a breakfast rec), we exchanged contact information for possibly crossing paths in the future. We were able to park our car in Sophie's garage for a daily fee, and we would definitely stay with her the next time we're in my favorite French Canadian city!

Beyond the ambiance, location, cleanliness, etc. of Le Widor, we had the best host in Sophie. She was so charming, helpful, and accomodati. Do not pass on her delicious breakfasts! We were able to walk to many restaurants, shops, sites, and Old City from this comfortable, modern B and B. Highly recommend!

We LOVED staying at Le Widor! Super clean, quiet, comfortable beds and linens, and great water pressure. The hostess is so kind and friendly, and made great recommendations for how to spend our time in Quebec City. Absolutely recommend getting the breakfast as well! It is homemade every morning and delicious! Our stay was perfect and we can't wait to come again.

Highly recommend this B&B when visiting Quebec City. Great location. Walking distance to everything. Sophie the host is so lovely, very accommodating and helpful. Place is spotless, beds comfortable and roomie. Common space is pleasant and inviting. Nice outdoor deck to sit in the morning for coffee. Rooms are quiet can’t hear other guests. Just wonderful. We will be back!

This was the best experience ever. I was here last year for one month and again this year. I feel at home and part of the family. Bravo Sophie and her team and I will recommend this beautiful place to everyone.The location is the best ,close to la rue Cartier and the Museum of Arts.
