Dinuda Resort

Very bad experience. Not recommended at all. Standard Rooms were small and congested. though they said buffet will be there, provided food was not sufficient. Had to request several times to provide more food. Staff was not trained properly. Pool is small.

Dinuda is in a great location, not far from the sand bar with the sea on one side and the lagoon on the other. You can watch the kite surfers from the resort if you don’t want to venture out. The rooms are lovely, big, bright and airy, very clean and comfortable. Lovely balcony with views out over the lagoon. There’s also a small pool, great to cool down in, and beautiful quiet gardens.

Wonderful family trip experience at Dinuda Resort. Excellent destinarion to spend the weekends.There are lots of fun activities .we had a joyful times and the food and facilities provided to us were at its best.Also the hospitality of your team was remarkable .

The perfect location in the lagoon and you can even see the ocean from some rooms. The staff were incredible so friendly and kind and happy to help with anything. The room was really sweet and clean and the beds comfortable. The food was wonderful. The only thing I would say is that it would have been nice to have our room cleaned whilst we were there 1 night. However, I’m sure if we had raised this at the time it would have been done. Overall a fantastic stay especially for the price.

I had such a great time in the Dinuda resort last week ! Gihan the manager was so helpful. I even got to do a little kayak sunset tour on the lagoon. Beautiful place, amazing views. My room had AC, a fridge and a balcony. Very good food and filtered water in the resort. They even have a tree house which is great to chill around. I would definitely recommend and go back next time in Kalpitiya ! Again thank you for such a great time :-)

We really don’t recommend this establishment. Actually we were few people staying there for quarantine and everyone was wondering how did they get some nice revews? Probably the owner always asking for it. Anyway service is terrible. The owner only wants your money. He was calling me and texting me all the time when he wanted me to book his accomodation. Bus as soon as you give him the money he doesn’t care of you at all. I had some issues with my suitcase in the country and asked him and tried to reached him many time he just doesn’t even reply the phone. Or we had some trouble with the room fully leaking and he was just downstairs we asked him to come up he never did. We had to text him 10 times. And then to pick him up. But he rather have some beers with his friends. Also when we had this conversation when he finally show up while the room was leaking everywhere I told him how disappointed we were with the service and he then replllied “you asked for a simple room this is what you get”. I nearly laugh. I am a resort manager back home and this is chocking. Like seriously. And then when he realised that he said something out of the place he then mentioned that it’s the fault of his staff that in Sri Lanka they are very bad (WRONG! It’s your fault if you don’t know how to train your staff, in other resort they are very well organised and service is great. ) He also smell alcohol from the breakfast which is super embarrassing. Most of the time he ignore our request but when he needs cigaretts he always come and ask for. Like man are you serious? You pay a crazy amount and nothing is done. We had to ask so many times before they actually want to clean our room. The owner was always trying to get money from us. Pretending we had to pay on top of the money we paid for pcr and insurance for gouvernement (92$) the transport or the car for the pcr (30$+30$). We gave him the money. When I told the girl from the pcr she was chocked and she said I shouldn’t have to pay that this is include already in my first gouvernement paiement. Anyway al the stay was a nightmare. The food is very poor quality and over priced (in the fruit plater you get half an apple and one piece of pineapple ). When we ordered some food sometime they were bringing something totally opposite just because they don’t have what we want and don’t want to tell us so they bring anything else(even meat that I don’t eat as a vegetarian). We went at some point visiting for new year the resort very close to named Kitesurflanka Resort which was amazing and MOST RECOMMENDED!! The food their was incredible the service amazing the people lovely I felt really like in Sri Lanka!! So must go there but please don’t waste your time and money in this establishment. The staff except the owner is very nice even tho they don’t speak any English. The owner should also train them, hospitality is a real job and doesn’t fit everyone. This is an unhygienic "resort" with terrible food. The owner misused our names Maria and Kurt he booked byhimself 1 night to write good reviews under false names. I became very ill there,pendorites and was one month in Kandia in hospital.When after month we came back to pick up our luggage was the half of it disappeared.We also had to pay during the time i was in hospital. the ownerWasantha Kumara is a very bad man.We feel.pity for the friendly crew who have ti work for him.

Dinuda resort is vey filty and unhygienic.ik kreeg er pendorites,buikvlies onsteking en met spoed naar het Asiri ziekenhuis in Kandy vervoerd.Dankzij het uitstekende ziekenhuis overleefde ik de zware operatie.Na 2 dgn berichte ik de eigenaar van het resort mr Wasantha Kumara,dat ik minstens nog 3 weken in het ziekenhuis moest blijven en ik mijn kamer opzegde,hij zou mijn achtergebleven spullen opslaan,ik had op aandringen van eigenaar 3 weken huur vooruit betaald (1470.00 euro).Na een maand werd ik uit ziekenhuis ontslagen en ging ik naar Dinuda om mijn spullen op te halen.Er was ter waarde van 680.00 euro verdwenen ,toen ik Wasantha vroeg mij de 2 wkn die ik hem had vooruit betaald ( ik lag immers in het ziekenhuis en hem gezegd dat hij kamer weer kon verhuren) weigerde hij mij de vooruitbetaalde 980.00 euro terug te betalen.Ik moest de volgende dag terug naar Amsterdam vliegen en had geen tyd om naar de politie te gaan. Deze eigenaar Wasantha Kumera is een zeer slecht mens
