Beschreibung der Unterkunft
Situated in a sheltered private section directly across the road from the breathtaking Pororari Lagoon, Huāki offers peace, rugged west coast magic, perfect for families who love nature and the outdoors with lots of space for the kids to run around. The crown jewel of our property is the truly stunning garden setting surrounded by ancient Nikau palms and giant Southern Rata, wildlife and native bush backing onto the Paparoa national park and mount Titohi. The Space Step into the enchanting world of Huāki, where the winds of history have left their mark on our 100-year-old rustic family Bach. Nestled in a coastal haven, our house wears its weathered façade like a badge of honour, a testament to the countless storms endured and tales told under its roof. Every window offers a picturesque garden view, retaining their original charm with single-glazed panes. While there's no central heating or air conditioning, fear not! We've placed an electric heater in every room to keep you warm on those chilly nights. Embrace the property's charm within our beautiful garden setting. And yes, along with the lush garden views come the occasional bug brigade—especially sandflies. They're just part of the West Coast ecosystem, so come prepared! As a bonus, we have access to glow worms in the bush right next to our property—a magical sight you won't want to miss. We're proud to share our space with families of Weka’s that have been living on our property for generations. In their honour, we uphold a strictly no dogs policy, ensuring their sanctuary remains undisturbed. Close access to the Pororari Lagoon, rugged beach, numerous walking, and biking tracks all await your exploration. A short 5-minute drive brings you to the Pancake Rocks, a geological wonder that never fails to captivate. Huāki is the perfect holiday destination for families and down-to-earth nature lovers set in one of the most magical spots in Punakaiki. So, if you're ready to trade modern amenities for a slice of coastal history, book your stay now. Guest access You will have private access to the entire house and Garage (only for storage not for parking vehicles). The sleep out is private for our family only and cannot be accessed, but will be vacant during your stay. Other things to note - Things to note: - No TV or Wi Fi (Trust us, you will not miss it) - Reasonable mobile and data coverage - Lock box self check in - Kitchen, fridge freezer, microwave, oven and cooking facilities for home cooking - The bathroom is slightly separated by a few steps from the main house by a small walkway from kitchen/dining room but is still built within the house. - Professionally laundered Linen and towels etc provided per guest - No wheelchair access - Bug Repellent is a necessity as Sandflies can be bad in the mornings and evenings. - The property is not fully fenced, young children will need adult supervision at all times. - Please note the property runs adjacent to the main road but has a tree line between the property and the road.About pets:No pets allowed.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.There is no cot available at this property.About customRules:No parking cars on the lawn.No Shoes to be worn inside,Please do your own Dishes.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About events:No events allowed.

A charming beach cottage set in a natural garden that merges with the native bush. Charming if you enjoy a rustic return to the past with no TV and no Wifi. Loved it.
