Abingworth Hall

A wonderful way to explore the South Downs. Spring was a good time to be there with little lambs and spring blooms. Excellent, welcoming staff that were very attentive to special dietary needs (celiac) which made everything easier. Heather and Noreen keep it all running smoothly. The food was delicious with a good selection- - exceeded expectations. A great way to combine walking, meeting people and great food. Generous picnic lunches. The folks serving the food were friendly. Lovely, clean room with large towels and heated towel rack. Water pressure could definitely be better, but it wasn't enough to take away from our enjoyment of our stay. The pool is heated and even in early May we were able to enjoy it. Impressed with walk leaders on guided walk. They were also helpful assisting those wishing to do a self-guided walk. Especially recommend for those from outside the UK looking for a fun and relaxing country holiday in the UK. We explored a beautiful area and got to know people from the UK and beyond.

My husband and I have just spent a week at Abingworth Hall on a self guiding walking holiday. It proved the perfect base for some excellent walking in the glorious Sussex countryside and visiting such places as the Brighton Pavilion and National Trust properties of Standen, Nymans and Polesdon Lacy. Our twin room was comfortable, the bathroom having bath and shower and all immaculately clean. The real highlight though was the quality and choice of the food, delicious fish on offer every day and melt in the mouth beef plus a reasonable choice for vegetarians. The house is obviously extremely efficiently and well run by manager Heather McEwan and her team. We look forward to returning soon.
