Cala Nova Apartamentos

This was my second visit here. I go here solo for sun and relaxation and that's exactly what I get. I've been to Puerto Rico many times and stayed in a few different hotels as well as the Altair, one of the sister hotels, which is situated further up the hill closer to the commercial centre which is also very good but the Cala Nova is much better for the uncovered huge balcony and minimal noise from the main centre, spectacular views, sun from 11.30am until 7-8pm! I can't understand why they don't have sunbeds on the balconies as there is AMPLE room for them! Location is perfect for both the shops and the beach. Walk along the beach front to the right and you will find the ferry to take you to mogán (€13 return) as well as some steps up to the cliff walk to amadores beach (both a must to visit) If you struggle with walking up hills there is an abundance of taxis to take you back to your hotel which is a minimum charge of €3.95 and this covers your journey from the beach. It's easy to walk down though. I find the beds very firm and the pillows could be better but everyone has their preference. The staff in reception are very friendly as are the cleaning staff also. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have everything you need for basic self catering and there's a shop at reception but very expensive, over €5 for a loaf of bread. There's a good Spar opposite the Mogan shopping centre (better shopping experience and some fantastic restaurants on the top floor) to stock up If need to. Although I didn't use the pool it's small with plenty of sunbeds which people do the ritual of laying down their towels, entertaining to watch. I'll be visiting again this year as this is now my happy place. See you soon Cala Nova and hopefully you will consider sunbeds on the balconies in the near future 🌞 thanks for a lovely holiday.

Apartment providing everything we needed great Internet lots of English TV for when you have had enough going out and want to relax Staff amazing cleaning is of a very high standard the only thing is the hotel bar and food are rather expensive compared to most places but having a great time and have booked again for next year

The hotel is lovely and the rooms are adequate for self catering the pool side is not very big struggled to get sun beds as people were hanging towels on them and going out I would like to suggest sun beds were put on balcony as there is sufficient room

Perfect position for everything, rooms clean and comfortable on arrival and kept like that throughout our stay, excellent value for money and after going there many times will keep on going to the Cala Nova when ever we go to Puerto Rico. Highly recommended

Stayed here twice now, our recent stay was excellent. Cala Nova is in the best location with great views, will definitely be booking another stay there. Rooms are just right for 2 with sun all afternoon. All the staff are very helpful and friendly.

As always the Cala Nova is a great hotel and excellent value for money. Friendly staff and clean rooms with all the basics you need. Pool is great but extremely slippy round the edges when wet. Pool opens at 9am when they unlock the sunbeds. At 9.05am 15 towels appear which is fun to watch but perhaps a more robust towel policy would benefit all guests? There was always space whatever time we went but still....... 3rd time we've been there, would definitely stay again.
