Brilliant location, lovely and clean and the staff are lovely. Pool is big, lovely snack bar. Great hotel at a bargain price, will definitely be back

I loved this small apartment complex. The decor might be a bit dated but that was not a big deal. Very functional, with a kitchen. The tarrace was great, pool view, quick access to the pool. Great location, close (500-600 metres) to the beautiful sandy beach and main ***** with plenty restaurants , coctail bars and shops. Friendly staff. No air con but you can hire a fan. Free Wi-fi.

Stayed here for 10 nights, we had 2 rooms as we are a family of 5. Both rooms were basic but very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The location is perfect just a short walk all down to the main *****, only a small hill back up. Staff all friendly and helpful. Only thing that let this hotel down is the sun loungers. There’s not enough of them and they are in one position only, they are very uncomfortable. At 6.30am people were already putting towels down on beds and not even using them. A lot of the times we couldn’t get a space by the pool. On one of the days a family put towels down early in the morning and didn’t return until late afternoon.

After reading the slightly mixed reviews before travelling I thought I should review our trip with a bit of detail. We have just returned from an Easter break at Plaza Azul, we had great weather and a truly great time😀. It is very true that the apartments are a little bit basic, tired and dated, they do however appear to have a fairly fresh coat of white emulsion. We found the apartments really clean and we appreciated the towel change and quick clean every couple of days. The pool area is really nice, again really clean, with a nice pool bar with a bit of music through the day, the bar is pricey compared to local bars, (which is a real shame because we would have used it a lot more) also you have to be early for a pool side sun-bed. Reception are friendly and very efficient in our experience, they are also backed by some great staff. We found the position perfect, 5 mins from beach and central of Porto del Carmen. We found it a really nice budget accommodation and well worth 4stars for the price

Really not sure how this is 4 star on trip advisor! I’m only reviewing the room as we didn’t use any other facilities. Room grubby, particularly paintwork and grouting. Rendering falling off the walls on the balcony. Would benefit from a deep clean but also requires updating. Bathroom was the worst, anything that was metal was Rusty, rotten wood work. (See photos) We were going to ask to change rooms but after speaking to a neighbour, they said their apartment was the same, so thought they may all be the same. Positives.. beds comfortable, staff friendly. The balcony was a sun trap in the afternoons. We booked with Jet2holidays which we normally trust but they clearly haven’t checked this hotel recently!

Good location that’s about were it ends dirty apartments cleaner comes in empty’s bin and that’s about it , floors filthy towels changed twice the week we were there, sunbeds dirty and uncomfortable that’s if you can get one, would not return

Just back from Plaza Azul. Great location near the top of a hill hard for anyone with walking difficulties, apartments were lovely 2 stories just and all looked onto the pool, beautiful pool area. Apartments very very basic, very minimum kitchen equipment 2 spoons, 1 tea spoon one knife for 4 of us that kinda basic, everything had to be paid for including tv remote, hair dryer, iron dont mind paying for a safe but thought at least a hair dryer on the wall is a nice essential, the maids cleaned most days but left a lot of dust behind and floors were always dirty. The pool bar man was friendly but they charged 6 euro for 6 kids nuggets and 5 euro for chips , the drinks were expensive also, we have stayed in a lot of apartments in puerto del carmen but they are the most dated, reception and indoor bar is like something from the 80s. Pool area was nice but the sun loungers didn't recline and were not comfortable you could hire the we mattress again for a fee, prob wouldnt return to these apartments the photos they look great online when booking

My stay here was amazing every day was a pleasure...the shops and restaurants were close by and the night life was brilliant...every night there was something going on...stayed around the pool during the day and met some wonderful people, the staff were so friendly... the apartment was clean and spacious. I'm intending to revisit in Dec this year with my granddaughter....

My husband and I have stayed in the plaza Azul a few times now, we are also returning a couple times this year starting in April, cant wait. the staff are so friendly, Betty and Leo on reception are amazing and cant do enough to help in any way. our room was lovely, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool is very spacious and clean. short walk of 5 mins to the main ***** for bars and restaurants. We have no complaints to make about Plaza Azul, we would recommend it to anyone. Looking forward to going back in April.
