Das Hotel ist sehr weit vom Zentrum entfernt und liegt zudem direkt an der Strasse. Die ausgeschriebenen Fahrräder gebe es momentan nicht zu verleihen, also mussten wir jedes Mal ein Taxi ins Zentrum nehmen. Wir hatten nur kaltes Wasser in der Dusche, kein warmes. Und an der Rezeption war nie jemand dort um zu helfen, auch wenn man geklingelt hat ist niemand gekommen. Auch die Sauberkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig (z.B. Barthaare vom Vorgänger in einem Becher im Badezimmer...) Das Frühstück ist in Ordnung, aber auch nicht überragend. Die Zimmer sind gut mit bequemen Betten. Der Pool ist gut. Wir würden dieses Hotel nicht wieder wählen.

Just awesome! Stayed for six nights, can’t think of one really negative thing to say about this place or the great people that work there! It is a little ways out of town, but you never have to wait more than a couple minutes for a taxi ($2) either to or from the hotel.

Staff were very helpful and always available. Pool was great and we enjoyed the hot tub many evenings. Hotel isn't downtown, but we had no trouble having taxis called for us everyday and they were quick and inexpensive, $1.50-$2 USD. We actually enjoyed being a few minutes away from the downtown area as it we got to enjoy festivities by day, then enjoy the quiet at night.

"My family and I stayed at El Descanso del Guía this past January, and we had an incredible time. We were traveling with my husband, mother-in-law, and our children, who are 5 and 4 years old. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The bedrooms were cozy and nicely furnished, and we were pleased to find that there were no insects inside them. The highlight for us was definitely the swimming pool and the jacuzzi, which were both very clean and enjoyable. Our kids loved spending time in these amenities so much that they didn't even want to go on any tours - they still ask us when we can go back! One of the best parts of our stay was the breakfast. It was cooked in front of us by the pool and was absolutely delicious. It was a great way to start our day and made us feel even more relaxed and at home. The only less positive aspect is that, as the hotel clearly states when you book, it is a bit farther away from town center. However, it's still only a short taxi ride away - less than 5 minutes, in fact. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at El Descanso del Guía and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay in the area."

The room was nice. The staff was great. Oscar and Angel were very helpful. They recommend restaurants and a tour with a taxi driver that turned out to be very good. They helped us with our bags. They made a great effort to communicate with us in English even though they had some limitations. They deserve an increase in their wages. The property is a little distance from the main *****. The $1.50 taxi ride is very cheap but it can be a problem when you start to run out of small bills.

We got off on rough start. The number provided by ********** always sent straight to voicemail. I went online to find a way to contact the hotel for the included gold status airport transfer that was not given as they said they were unable to acomódate three days before arrival but they could send a taxi at normal cost of 25 usd. The hotel itself was very clean, great service at the front desk, very helpful. A little from the docks if you plan to walk but doable. .

Hotel is lovely however it is quite a walk from the centre, a taxi is only $2 though and the hotel are happy to arrange a taxi when needed. Pool was clean and had 4 loungers poolside. Looks like there may have been a poolside bar but that doesn't seem the case any more. There are two shops near by but no restaurants. Breakfast was nice and varied, always accompanied with a fresh fruit juice. Hotel can do your laundry at $2 per KG and was ready in a few hours. Staff are helpful and friendly.

We enjoyed our stay here, the staff made our time enjoyable as they were very friendly and helpful when booking taxis to where we needed to go, the room was as expected, breakfast in the morning was quick and easy so you could be on your way. No complaints at all, thank you to the staff at Hotel el Descanso del Guia for making our Galapagos visit a great one.
