Maki Hotel

We spent 4 nights in Pucon & stayed at the Maki Hotel. We chose the hotel because we wanted to be in town & for the price it seemed to offer a good balance of location, amenities etc. The location is very good & is just a block from the bus station which was handy for us as we had arrived by bus, tired, from over the border in San Martin de los Andes in Argentina. It is also only 2 blocks from the main street (O'Higgins) and the supermarket & lots of restaurants. Pucon itself is a touristy but very pleasant town & we really enjoyed our stay using it as a base to explore the area by car. The room was overall nicely decorated & the bed comfy and we had a nice little patio / deck that we could enjoy in the afternoons / evenings after a day out. Our only slight criticism is that the room is a little small & there isn't much space for storage or to move around the bed, but it's not a deal breaker just something to be aware of. The staff were all lovely though & spoke good English on reception. They were also very helpful in organising a shared minivan back to the airport so that we could pick up a hire car. This was much appreciated as it was significantly cheaper than a taxi. Breakfast was also decent with breads, pastries, fruit etc & eggs. Oh & there is a handy & good value laundrette opposite the hotel, which will deliver your washed clothes back to the hotel. All in all, Maki hotel is a good option in Pucon & we enjoyed our stay in a lovely part of the world!

This boutique hotel was the perfect stay for me in Pucón! The hotel is very close to restaurants, bars and grocery stores, without being directly on the Main Street. It’s quiet, contemporary and beautiful! The staff were also incredibly friendly and accommodating. I hiked to the top of Villarrica Volcano and was getting picked up by the organizers at 6am. Without even asking, the hotel offered to pack me a to-go breakfast so that I’d have something to eat before the big hike. They also made me a special tea when my stomach wasn’t feeling well. I’m a solo traveler and felt completely safe here and would recommend to anyone who is visiting Pucón!

The location of the hotel is great and the parking was useful though there was plenty space on the street too. The hotel looks really nice inside and outside with a small garden. The staff were nice and helpful. Though we stayed only one night in this hotel so it was fine for us. However, the room we got was extremely small and to make it worse it had extra single bed inside - there was no literally space to move around and it had very limited space for clothes, etc. It was a busy week in Pucon with international conference and probably better rooms were allocated for guests staying longer, though we would not recommend to book a room for three pax. The bathroom did not have any heating at all. Though the room was ready for our late evening arrival warmed up with AC while it was close to 0C outside the bathroom was icy cold and the only way to warm it up was to switch on the hot hot shower which is not ideal. The breakfast was very limited and simple and no any other choice of coffee by filtered. We would appreciate espresso even if for extra charges.

Really enjoyed staying in this small hotel. Rooms have balcony, very comfortable beds & good sized bathroom. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast is great. Freshly cooked scrambled eggs to order & cold meats cheese & a good fruit selection. The service is excellent. The staff all did everything possible to help us checking & booking buses, giving us early breakfast. Would definitely recommend this hotel .

The hotel looks new in every aspect of building and furniture. I am going to split this review into two parts: InfraStructure and Service. ＞InfraStructure: Amazing! We stayed in a room, with a double bed and an extra bed, the space was very comfortable, everything worked very well, a large TV, with high quality sound and image, excellent sound insulation (annulling all street noise), solar screen, blackout screen, air conditioning well dimensioned, lighting project, decoration, laptop sized safe, excellent mattress and pillows, very soft sheets... the only point of improvement for the structure would be to install a place to hang beach clothes and also an extra hook for the 3rd towel. ＞Service: In general, it was very friendly, impeccable cleanliness, but the breakfast was mismanaged. I emphasize that this hotel has high-end rate and that our expectation is that it would be perfect in all aspects. During breakfast, 3 or 4 employees are available in a lounge for around 20 guests in a booked 45' slot of time, with this contingent it would be possible to provide a more personalized service (kosher, or gluten free, or vegan, or lactose free...) but these options were not offered. When I asked for an omelette, I was informed that they only make scrambled eggs. Twice I pointed out that the cereals provided were withered, as if the pot was 'topped up' instead of 'fully replenished'. Twice there weren't enough croissants for us, once there was only 1 (for 3 of us) and another time there weren't any in our time slot (and no alternative). But the main point of dissatisfaction was that on a given day we were outrageously and uncomfortable allocated to an improvised area on the sofa to have breakfast, while they allocated a couple of guests and the lady's purse to occupy the table (which seats 4 ) that we use on other days. In addition to the outrage for a hotel with a rate on this level, there was no retraction/compensation on the part of the hotel. So we loved the place, but I would really think twice to be there again.

Really nice small boutique hotel. Best comfort in bed sheets and pillows in all if Chile in our two week tripfor the triple win. Modern and chic design yet rustic and simple. Wonderful breakfast and the service was super friendly and helpful. And then I got a special room service delivery of champagne and charcuterie cheese and nuts for my 65 birthday ! Highly recommended
