American Hotel

My recent stay at this so-called "4-star" hotel was deeply disappointing and certainly not up to the standards one would expect from such a rating. First, upon arrival, I was greeted by a rude receptionist who seemed more interested in dismissing my concerns than providing any semblance of customer service. When I pointed out that the room I was given was smaller than what I had booked, we were given bigger room next day but it was a lot of hassle to change the room. The room itself was far from comfortable. The air conditioning was not working properly, making the room stuffy and uncomfortable throughout my stay. To add to the discomfort, there were mosquitoes in the room. I also found a small refrigerator in the room, but it was broken, rendering it completely useless. Moreover, there were no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room, which is a basic amenity I expect from a 4-star hotel. The restaurant was another major letdown. I liked restaruant staff but did not like the food at all. To top it all off, when I asked the receptionist to book a taxi, I was charged double the normal price. I asked the receptionist to ask for the price and he booked and force us to use taxi. Overall, my stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The service was poor, the amenities were lacking, and the overall experience was far below what I expect from a 4-star establishment. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Firstly I should start by making it clear we weren't booked in at this hotel. We were due to be at the neighbouring hotel, The Best Western, but this was closed due to 'issues with the hot water', and since this is it's 'sister hotel' the manager waited outside for our arrival and re-directed us here. The American Hotel is dated (although they seem to have renovated some of their rooms), with no pool, no tea/coffee facilities or vending machines, and worst of all, no atmosphere. The restaurant is open for breakfast (a basic range that doesn't change from day to day) and from seven pm for dinner but the food is okay at best and contains some defrosted elements, while the bar is usually closed. The place is like a ghost town, with few staff and very few other holidaymakers. The hotel's one saving grace is that they have decent free WiFi. The area in which it sits is industrial to say the least - it is one long road lined with car showrooms, workshops and engineering factories. The beach is unreachable despite claims that it is not far away, and the only places of refuge are a nightclub over the road (not open during the day, not most nights) and a 'bar' a little way down the street. The 'bar' seems okay, but is more of a cafe with food on offer, bottled beer only, and as it seems to serve the  workers of the nearby motor-related businesses it definitely doesn't scream 'holiday', and despite google saying it opens on Sundays it didn't. If you intend to break out from here be warned - the hotel doesn't organise or advertise excursions, and due to a strange cultural quirk, tickets for the local buses can only be purchased immediately before you travel from a 'tabbacheria', none of which are within reasonable walking distance of the hotel. Your options are limited to long-distance walking (assuming you have studied the route) or taxis to the nearest metro (which don't come cheap - we paid 18 euros for a 5 minute journey). If you wish to travel through to Naples expect to pay in the region of 60 euros each way. The 502 bus schedule is okay on weekdays and sketchy at weekends, and the bus stop is directly outside the Best Western Hotel but you'll still have the issue of how to purchase your ticket in the first place. Overall, a stressful experience!

Okay hotel with flaws, very far from the city! However if you take this hotel you need a car or a scooter (rent). Food is ok, staff is ok, not the best. Tips: Don't let the staff order taxi for you they call a friend and he over charge you! Almost the triple of a normal price. It should cost around 30 euro to city. They tried to charge us almost 120. Called the staff and asked what is this he said not my problem. Name is Dario stay away from him, very cheeky. Name of the driver is Antonio! If I ever go back to Napoli i would never stay at this hotel due to the location and due to the one staff member order us that taxi.

Hot water kettle not provide, no tea arrangement in room. No place to get hot water to drink. Water tumblers being provided was environmentally unfriendly plastic disposable . The management in very unfriendly an uncooperative. In whole s very bad experience.

Struttura ben organizzata e rispondente alle esigenze di sicurezza per vigilanza e videosorveglianza; preferibile agli hotel del centro caotico in quanto con esso ben collegato. Offre accoglienza in un clima di tranquillità e cordialità. Ottima accoglienza alla ricezione; ottimi servizi; ottimo bar e ristorante; vastissima scelta anche alla prima colazione; parcheggio custodito organizzato sulla più efficiente sicurezza. Dulcis in fundo: personale di eccellente professionalità, capace di mettere a proprio agio non solo ogni singolo cliente, ma persino i più esigenti gruppi organizzati. Da tutto ciò, oltre che un vero piacere, deriva quasi un obbligo il non rinunciare al soggiorno ivi, ogni qualvolta si arrivi a Napoli.

Più che hotel da 4 stelle mi sembrava da 2 stelle, sporco, bagno vecchio, nel mini bar si poteva mettere almeno qualche bevanda in più, c'era solo 1 bottiglietta d'acqua, tasse da pagare dopo, sono stata 2 notti e ho pagato 30€ di tasse al check out, essendo che non c'è molto in giro giustamente un piatto di carne 17€, era buono, il cibo è buono, ma se non ti puoi muovere essendo che lì attorno ci sono solo concessionare, pagherai molto per mangiare C'era il bollitore ed era pieno di calcare, ma non tipo di calcare che lo sciacqui e se ne va, sembrava quasi muffa com anche le tazze sporche Sono stata 2 notti, prenotando 2 mesi in anticipo, e ho pagato 170€ senza contare il cibo, e onestamente è caro per un hotel del genere
