Renaissance Portsmouth-Norfolk Waterfront Hotel

When we checked in we were advised that the Air conditioning was out and that they would refund us our fees if we wanted to cancel and go elsewhere which was not an option. We had no other options and they had there was no compensation for it. The shower in our room leaked all over the place and looks like it had been like that for a while. Pool area is kind of old but functional. Staff was very nice otherwise. Overall nice place.

Looked historic, some fixtures were loose, no air conditioning for our 2 night stay. Not ideal for 90°+ weather

It was no water or ac for hours and this was for the 4th of July plus I had to get my air filter changed because how dirty the filter was and a kid threw up in the pool and they only put cleaning solution in the pool and did not close it and my bathroom door was broken

My stay was interrupted by a fire alarm at 3:30 am and air conditioning that did not work during my stay. This was my second visit to this location and there was a fire alarm during that visit as well. Excellent location but not likely to return.

This was my first time staying at this hotel while enjoying a birthday staycation. The staff was absolutely wonderful—everyone I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and eager to help, which made me feel special during my celebration. The only downside was that the air conditioning was out for my entire stay. Unfortunately, it made the room uncomfortable and took away from what would have otherwise been a great experience. I truly appreciated the excellent customer service, but I hope the AC issue is resolved so future guests can fully enjoy their stay. Overall, the amazing staff left a positive impression, and I would consider staying again once the air conditioning issue has been fixed.

It’s was cool, front desk could give more chic fil A vibe with there greeting, but overall it was cool

Pleasant stay, staff was professional & kind with one exception upon arrival. Only odd feature was the thin walls. We could literally hear the entire conversation in the room next door.

This hotel is beautiful! Check in was a breeze. There was a birthday party going on when I got there the live band was jumping!! The bar staff was the best! Tameka was the sweetest! Drinks top tier. Was t really impressed with my meal I had the steak, asparagus & mashed potatoes. My room was so comfortable and the views were so nice and relaxing. Will definitely stay again.

This is a very attractive alternate to staying on Norfolk side of the river with easy access via ferry. Staff were awesome and property appeared brand new due to recent upgrades. Breakfast buffet was awesome as was Daruis who waited on us. Great stay!
