Tamanu on the Beach

Der Ort Der Ort ist magisch, denn er blickt auf das Meer mit Walzen, die 30 Meter vom Strand entfernt am Korallenriff angespült werden. Allerdings ist das Schwimmen nicht möglich, da es entweder zu gefährlich ist oder es keinen Grund gibt. Es sollte hinzugefügt werden, dass das Hotel sehr, sehr abgelegen ist und es nichts in der Nähe gibt. Port Villa ist 35 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt, sodass Sie Mittag- und Abendessen im Hotel einnehmen müssen und daher die hohen Preise der angebotenen Verpflegung ertragen müssen. Das Personal Das Personal ist bezaubernd und kümmert sich sehr gut um die Kunden. Sie sind diejenigen, die das Hotel auf Distanz führen, weil der Manager sehr (zu) diskret ist. Die Kellnerinnen sind auch die Haushälterinnen, die Rezeptionisten und auch die SPA-Masseurinnen!! Nein, nein, Sie träumen nicht und trotz ihres guten Willens und ihres breiten Lächelns haben sie mehr Talent für den Zimmerservice als für Massagen. Wir kamen gegen 21 Uhr an (wegen unseres Fluges) und es war niemand an der Rezeption, die Küche war geschlossen und wir mussten unbedingt darauf bestehen, ein miserables Sandwich zu essen. Am nächsten Tag ließ sich die berühmte Geschäftsführerin Fiona nicht herab, uns zu treffen und sich nach unserer Installation zu erkundigen!!!! Also keine Management-/Kundenbeziehungskenntnisse. Wir zahlten immer noch 350 € pro Nacht in einem Bungalow am Meer (hervorragend). Wir hatten etwas mehr Aufmerksamkeit erwartet. Kurz gesagt, wir blieben 5 Nächte und es war viel zu lange!!! Es lohnt sich nicht. Maximal zwei Nächte zu Beginn oder am Ende Ihres Aufenthalts sind angesichts des sehr schlechten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnisses mehr als ausreichend.

Great for a family holiday or couple’s getaway. At Tamanu, you’re off the beaten track, though the villas are extremely comfortable and you have everything you’ll need in room and from the staff service. The food over 12 days was consistently excellent and serving size plentiful (too much if anything !). The staff were incredibly friendly and by the end of the stay, it was like leaving family. The ONLY downside I’d highlight is the constant wind, and potentially the remoteness, but that can also be a plus!

I had the pleasure of staying at Tamanu on the Beach from January 6th to 12th as part of my honeymoon with my wife, and I can confidently say it was the absolute highlight of our trip. This is coming from someone who also stayed at some incredible 5-star hotels in Australia and Hamilton Island—Tamanu truly stands out. The staff were exceptional—warm, welcoming, super friendly, and always attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, making our stay truly unforgettable. Their hospitality made us feel so special that leaving felt like saying goodbye to family. We stayed in the one-bedroom villa with a plunge pool and a sea view, and it was simply breathtaking. The villa was spacious, beautifully designed, and waking up to that stunning view every morning was nothing short of magical. We had absolutely no complaints about the room—it was perfect. And the food? Wow. Every dish was outstanding, crafted with so much care and flavor. Dining there was a highlight in itself. Our stay was so amazing that we wished we could extend it, but unfortunately, they were fully booked. Tamanu exceeded all our expectations, and if I could give them more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Highly, highly recommended!

Tamanu on the Beach Resort and Spa is such a special place. The resort is stunning with incredible views, beautiful spacious clean villas, fantastic restaurant where every meal we had was great and a lovely spa however its Fiona, Anthony and there beautiful staff that make Tamanu so special. Love and thanks for making our holiday so special to Alice, your beautiful smile and warmth greeted us on our first day and we appreciate the friendship you showed us. We stayed for 12 nights for a special family celebration. 7 adults and 1 child. We had an amazing stay. It is in quite a remote location but is right on the beach which was pretty special. It is windy all the time but I think that helps to keep the temperature down - we were not uncomfortably hot at any time. I recommend getting a pool villa - they are so good! Restaurant is excellent - quite a substantial menu and also a blackboard menu but nothing changed much on that in 12 days. Chefs are very flexible with leaving items out or adding items in to dishes. Fire show on the beach was very enjoyable. We all had at least one spa visit each and everyone was happy with their treatment. We did every day trip on offer and enjoyed them all. We ventured out quite a few times, for sightseeing and for a few meals. We went in a Tamanu van each time, with one of their drivers, highly recommend this. Cannot remember the price but it was worth it. The road in is pretty rough but I think it was due to be graded the week we left. Staff are all lovely and super friendly. We did lots of beach walking. There is a nice little bay not far up where we had a nice swim. There is also a good little pizza place a short walk along the beach, which is only open on Weekends but has a beach volleyball court and shaded areas to sit and look at the view - it is called Sol Wata Beach Club. Eva and Fiona helped us a lot with any queries we had. The gardens and grounds were immaculate. We would be very happy to stay here again. One thing all of us girls would have loved would be if they had a second wardrobe in the rooms (there is room) - the existing one does not hold maxi dresses and is not big enough for 2 peoples clothes.

I had a great time here. It is beautifully situated on a stunning and expansive beach. The food is excellent, we had their shakshuka for breakfast every day and couldn't get enough of it. And the dinner and lunches were equally healthy and delicious. Its worth paying more for a nice cottage, we love our sea shell home and falling asleep to the sound of waves. And the management was so great and helpful and make everything work. Its remoteness is a big part of its charm. You feel like you're at the end of the world. But because of this remoteness, the hotel would benefit from a few more things to do. Like a communal sitting room to read / have drinks in. Because there is just the dining room and your bedroom. Or make the pool area more of a focal point. Or more activities (the fire dance is INCREDIBLE). We stayed for a week and adored it. And think its the best spot in Vanuatu.
