The bedrooms were very comfortable, clean and beautifully furnished. They include a small kitchenette with fridge and coffee making facilities. The spa facilities were also excellent. I’ve never seen so many hydrotherapy jets and jacuzzis in one hotel. We enjoyed the sound bath, massages and floatarium. There was a daily programme of wellness activities including yoga, Pilates, sound baths etc. The staff on reception were excellent, with an efficient and friendly check in / check out. The buffet breakfast was good with a wide selection of hot, cold and wellness breakfast items. The major downside was the restaurant and bar service. There were very few staff available to serve food and drinks, so dinner service was incredibly slow despite the best efforts of the waiters / waitresses. It is a short 10 minute walk to the restaurants in town so we found this was a reliable alternative option for speedy service and a wider menu. There are restrictions around pool access for children. Accommodation in building 2 has a large pool that is accessible to 5-12 year olds. In building 1, there is a small unheated pool for 5-12 year olds (very cold water even in mid August) and an aqua play area for small children. The other pools in building 1 are exclusively for over 12s. Building 2 is better for families as it also houses the kids club, but the differences between the two buildings weren’t clear when we booked. The styling at the hotel is eclectic. It has a unique maximalist style with an incredible array of colourful props and lighting styles in every space of the hotel. We found it fun, but not a hotel for minimalists. The Augusta is primarily a spa with excellent accommodation. If it can improve its food and drink offerings, it would truly deliver on its ‘relax’ promise. More broadly, Sanxenxo has a lovely beach and lively seafront with lots of restaurants and ice cream shops.

Das Hotel ist schön und das Zimmer sehr gemütlich. Ich mag nicht sehr die anhaltende Insinuation des Besitzers und seines Partners, dass meine Freundin und ich zusammen schlafen müssten, weil wir Männer und Frauen waren (auch wenn ich klar war, dass wir Freunde waren), aber wir blieben nur eine Nacht. Die Rezeptionisten waren wunderschön.

Acabo de salir hace un rato del hotel. he estado una semana y estoy encantada de haber elegido este hotel. El personal de recepción muy amable, contestaron a todas nuestras dudas. El personal del comedor, tanto de la cena como la del desayuno muy amables y atentos. Utilizamos el spa, si que es pequeñito, pero para relajarnos un poco nos valió. La habitación y el baño muy limpias. la única pega las almohadas un poco bajas para mi gusto. El hotel cerca de todo. Repetiré seguro.

Hemos estado hace algunos días en el hotel y nos ha encantado. Habitación con muchos detalles, restaurante acogedor con vinoteca de cristal, y desayuno buffet bastante variado, (recomiendo el crumble de manzana). Spa que invita a una total relajación. La atención por parte de los empleados es muy buena.Destacar la simpatía y profesionalidad de la jefa de recepción.

An overnight stay on our Camino walk (The Old Way). The hotel is easy to find, comfortable and the rooms nicely appointed. Reception staff were extremely helpful, spoke good English and provided a useful city map. Its a city hotel so expect some night-time noise! The room shower was great and a respectable breakfast buffet was set out for breakfast. There was even a small selection of hot foods, which made a pleasent change after our regular continential breakfasts. There was also lashings of good hot coffee delivered to the table. The hotel also provided us with picnic lunches for our onward travel. It contained a nice selection of meat and cheeses and they also catered for vegitarians on request. For those walking the Camino the Portuguese Way it is a pleaseing stop-over in Ponteverdra.

Cute, charming property, however the service was HORRIBLE. The owner even screamed at me! We were a group of 12 people walking the Camino. The first person of my group arrived by herself, and they didn’t want to send her a taxi as it was promised on the reservation. They said that they don’t send taxis for just one passenger, and this client Sofia, had to wait two hours for her parents to join her, and then, the hotel sent the taxi. She was by herself two hours in a restaurant without knowing what to do. The booking company never informed us that in order to receive a taxi a minimum of guests was required. The waiter at the restaurant at dinner times was distracted, mixing orders, and trying to convince one of my clients that he can’t take a Martini and a glass of wine at the same time! One or the other! Who cares! If the client pays for both drinks, the waiter is nobody to be judging a client’s drinking behavior. One of the guests requested salt three times for French fries, with no results. He finally went to another table to ask other hotel guests for the salt they had in their table. And I can continue for hours describing the lack of professionalism in this place. We are all Spanish speaking, therefore no language barrier. The owner, as I said, he was very arrogant and uneducated. I was talking to him, standing by his table, while he was eating cheese and bread. He never stopped eating and/or invited me to the table, and/or standing so he can be talking to me at the same physical level (basic rules of education); I addressed the taxi situation in addition to the fact that they left my luggage into another client’s room, making this totally inappropriate for them and for me. Can you imagine if there was something missing from our suitcase? Who is responsible? Well, this man said that it was this client’s fault to “accept” these suitcases into their room. Unbelievable!! He was one of these persons “My way or the highway.” Rooms have no AC, no elevator, and no phones! I had one towel only for two guests, and when I was in the shower, I noticed it and there was no phone to call the receptionist. The shower gel dispenser was empty. The room was not clean. When I addressed these issues to the lady in the morning at checkout (I am suspicious that she was his wife) she just said “Vale” (Ok) No apologies, she was not surprised, and she mentioned that if I wanted another towel, I should have used my cellular. I replied that making an international phone call to request a towel was totally unthinkable. Last, we were “lucky” to have the owner driving us back to the Camino. He never opened us the door, or the trunk; never helped with our luggage; he was comfortable seated by the wheel all the time. And he drove us super-fast to intimidate us. Terrible! Stay away from this place.

Wir haben eine kleine Buchung ”über die Stunde” gemacht, etwas besorgt mit den weniger positiven Kommentaren, die wir gelesen hatten. Es wäre offenbar ein Hotel ”mitten in der Nichts” mit einem hervorragenden Spa. Das Zimmer, das uns zugewiesen wurde, war riesig, mit Blick auf die Hauptstraße und mit einem großen Badezimmer. Gute Bettwäsche und Wäsche. Wir gingen mit Halbpension, die sich als die beste Option erwiesen. Das Hotel hat hervorragende Bedingungen, das Team ist sehr nett, aufmerksam und verfügbar, überwinden viel einfach Professionalität. Das SPA ist eines der besten, die wir gefunden haben, mit einem sehr kompletten Wasserkreislauf. Die Einbeziehung ist sehr angenehm, in den Wäldern und Abfällen. Eine Details, die es wert ist zu erwähnen: Unwillkürlich und ohne uns selbst zu bemerken, haben wir einen Betrag in bar gefallen (60 €) und, wenn wir ins Zimmer gekommen sind, nach der Reinigung, Das Hotel wurde auf dem derzeitigen Büro des Zimmers gestellt. Aus allen Gründen empfehlen wir dieses Hotel in Galicien.
