I recently stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Johor Bahru and had an overall pleasant experience. The room was quite spacious, offering a comfortable and relaxing environment. The hotel itself is located in an area with relatively light traffic, which is a nice bonus, although it is a bit farther from some of the more popular tourist spots. However, there's an Aeon shopping mall nearby, which provides convenience for shopping and dining. As for halal eateries, I wasn't able to find many in the immediate area, but there is Woodfire, a restaurant just a 2-minute walk from the hotel, which serves good food. The hotel service was also top-notch, with the staff being attentive and professional. While the location may not be ideal for those who want to be close to major attractions, the peaceful environment and the convenience of nearby amenities make it a solid choice. I would certainly not mind visiting again.

I recently stayed at this hotel and while there were some positives, there were also several areas that need improvement. The room itself wasn’t very well maintained and had an old appearance. The furniture and decor looked dated, which gave the room a somewhat worn-out feel. Cleanliness could also be improved as there were a few areas that didn’t feel as fresh as expected. On the bright side, the hotel offers full amenities, which was a nice touch. The location is definitely a highlight—there are plenty of eateries nearby. We enjoyed a delicious meal of lok lok at a spot just a short walk from the hotel. The owner of the lok lok stall was extremely friendly and provided great service, which added to our overall experience. Overall, the hotel could use some updates and a focus on cleanliness, but the location and nearby food options were great.

There’s no lift so had to climb a flight of stairs to get to the hotel lobby. No lift even at the lobby, have to climb stairs to get to room. Not suitable for elderly and those with wheelchair, huge luggage, prams, etc. There’s mosquitoes in the room and I got bitten. The aircon is inconsistent and not cold enough. Water dispenser only available at the lobby. No bottled water provided. The mattresses are so so only, not so comfortable. Towels worn out and not so good.

Quite a clean place. Spacious also. Water dispenser provided outside the common area. Aircon is cool, not very cold type. Kettle provided also. Have fridge, safe and hangers to hang clothes. Bed comfortable and pleasant stay. Nice toilet paper. Staff friendly too. Thank you! However no coffeeshop nearby. Only MacDonald’s and some eateries at Giant Plentong area have to walk 15 mins. Overall good.

Die Toilettentür ist träge und alt, aber hat eine Reihe von Hügeln auf sie, aber Ihre Kleidung wird nass Cos die Dusche ist da. Flaschen Wasser ist auf dem Tisch geliefert. Es gibt heißes und kaltes Wasser aus dem Zimmer. Dieses Exekutivzimmer ist größerer und sauberer (reiniger ist nur meine persönliche Meinung). Die Zimmer sind grundsätzlich, minimal (wie der Name angibt) aber gemütlich, obwohl die Lärmschutzleistung verbessert werden könnte, da einige Lärm aus dem Korridor in bestimmten Zimmern hörbar war. Das Hotel liegt nicht in der Nähe von großen Malls, ist aber mit wenigen Kaffeegeschäften, Komfortgeschäften und Essen nur einen 3-5 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Das Hotel ist auch etwa ein 30-minute Taxi oder Grab Fahrt von City Square JB, die es für große Attraktionen zugänglich macht. Insgesamt ist es eine solide Option für diejenigen, die eine gute Lage und komfortablen Aufenthalt wert.

went there for an impromptu stay (& played with fireworks as it was the new year!), checking in took long as the staff was new but it is okay, the room was small but good for a night stay. Bedsheets had staining seen due to long usage but was comfortable. Towels had smell on them and smelled as though they did not dry enough. Toilet is okay however there are no toiletries provided. Hairdryer was attached to the wall. No complimentary drinks provided but had cups and you can get instant coffee made at the hotel lobby. Parking 🅿️ was okay as there were many lots but to park at your own risk. There is Aeon mall nearby, overall location is still acceptable.

First of all, SPECIAL SHOUT OUT for the housekeeping lady who did the cleaning up for our room🏆🏆 We had already checked out and were waiting in the lobby for the Grab driver when the housekeeping lady rushed down and returned my daughter's earbuds!! Thank you for going the extra mile! Other things we loved about Kyoto Boutique: - nice classy decor and the wooden floor (I hate carpeted floors in hotel rooms cos it's hard to tell if it's clean) - the hot water heater for the shower works perfectly! - there is a water cooler at the floor lobby so we could get cold and hot water!! - there is a safe in the room - many coffeeshops and restaurants nearby. Also has a supermarket just downstairs. - excellent service But overall the hotel should probably do some renovations or fix some of the items in the room. - Some parts of the wallpaper were peeling off. - The tap was loose and had to be shut off in a particular direction or the water would keep flowing. - the switch to the toilet did not have a cover so we couldn't switch off the lights - the temperature of one of the aircons couldn't be adjusted so it blasted very cold air all night. Thankfully, the family suite had 2 aircons (cos the room was divided into 2 areas, each w a queen bed). So we turned on only one aircon.

GGastnutzerLocation was closed to Mid Valley mall, we booked here for our weekends staycation. The check in process is fast and given room on 3rd floor #312 with window facing busy road. Unfortunately, the vehicle noise can be heard even window is fully closed. We can’t sleep too due to aircon not getting work with correct setting. Reception lady was very helpful in exchanging the room due to aircon not cooling after a moment of stay, it was free upgraded to family room on 2nd floor without window #217. We are both having a nice sleep and will visit again in the new future.

LLeow cheah weiVerglichen mit anderen Sonnenunterkünften und anderen nahe gelegenen Budget-Hotel, ist das Zimmer eine Schande. es ist klein, und nicht ein Kleidung-Tafel oder Hanger zu hängen. Es gibt Tee-Machung ohne Tee oder Kaffee. Wir zahlen zusätzliche für ein Fensterzimmer, aber es gibt keine Landschaft und die Der Garten ist sehr runter. Das Handtuch hat ein Loch. Fernseher-Rezeption ist jedoch klar. Wenn das Hotel die Anlage ein wenig aufbewahrt, für den Preis ist es immer noch gut.
