Sueño del Mar Beachfront Hotel

Super friendly staff and world class chief doing outstanding breakfast, amazing atmosphere and private beach with no other people - this is a place to relax and time for being together. This is the place, to calm down and it is close to the city touristic business. Nice small restaurants are located nearby.

I don't really know where to begin. My husband and I decided to have our wedding and subsequent vacation at Sueno this year. This place is a dream. It's exactly what we envisioned. It's clean, authentic, rustic but high end, comfortable, private, magical--the list could go on. Our wedding party/family stayed in all the wonderful rooms while we stayed in the Luna suite. Eduardo and Sol (we honestly still talk about Sol ever few days) were amazing. We felt right at home. The catering for the wedding was done by Sueno as well, and the food was excellent. As for our wedding guests, people kept asking how we found the place. Everyone has said it was a wonderful venue and the best/prettiest wedding they have ever been to before. Sueno is in a great, private location. The point on the beach guests a little busy at sunset, but it's because the sunsets there are exquisite. We were able to walk into Tamarindo multiple days, even in the heat. But ubers/taxis are not hard to come by either if needed. Choose this place for your vacation. Your honeymoon. Your wedding. Whatever. It doesn't matter, you won't be disappointed. We are already talking about when we can plan our first trip back.

We had our 50-person wedding in January 2023 at Sueno del Mar and it was absolutely the perfect venue for us. We stayed in the Luna honeymoon suite which is spacious, bright, and you can hear the ocean waves crashing at night. Our family stayed in the other rooms on the property and each person loved their room. The outdoor showers are so fun and still very private feeling. The entire staff, especially Sol and Eduardo, were amazing to work with from start to finish. They really made us feel like part of the family. The food was out of this world—they also catered our wedding and the all the guests were going back for seconds! Breakfasts each morning were hearty and delicious complete with fresh juices and dessert. It really is a such a special place nestled in paradise on Playa Langosta. We also loved meeting the resident cat, Lolo! When at Sueno del Mar it feels like you're on your own private beach but then you can easily walk or take a quick cab to all the shops/restaurants/bars in Tamarindo. If you're wanting a unique and breathtaking beachfront wedding venue with the nicest and most accommodating staff ever—look no further! We 100% recommend staying at Sueno del Mar while in Costa Rica. We stayed at other nearby hotels during our honeymoon after the wedding and kept remarking how Sueno del Mar was still our absolute favorite place. We can't wait to go back one day soon.

Sueno del Mar is by far the best! Walking through the entry, Sueno unfolds as you descend down the saltillo steps along a shaded row of individual cabanas to the open air dining area, pool and then ahh - the private day bed palapas and lounge chairs overlooking the beach. The sand is soft, white and the water cool. Go to the refrigerator, grab a cool drink, mark it to your room, and watch the sunset as you relax on your day bed contemplating tomorrow. Hosts Sol and Eduardo were warm, welcoming and Sol gave the best tour! Lily makes amazing breakfasts - wow! We will return time and again to this very special place on Playa Langosta!

We loved this place. We missed our first night of 3 due to a missed connection in Atlanta, but made the most of the two were there. We only left for Dinner as the hotel offered all the amenities we needed. We spent the days lounging in the chairs, bed and private beach swimming in the pool and ocean. The hotel only has 7 or so rooms, so the privacy and quiet are unmatched. The owners have a fun energy to them which only adds to everything we loved.
