Chabil Mar Villas - Guest Exclusive Boutique Resort

I was at Chabil Mar Villas in Placencia Village, Belize, for a wedding, and honestly, it was incredible. The team made the whole 3-day event feel effortless—they went above and beyond to make everything perfect. Every little detail was handled, and they were always ready with solutions if anything came up. The hospitality was next level, and you could tell they genuinely cared about making the experience a memorable one. If you're looking for a gorgeous spot where the staff truly has your back, this is it!

We stayed at Chabil Mar Villas for one week in September. Come to find out September is their low season so, we had the resort almost exclusively to ourselves. We stayed in Villa 11 which is close to the bar and one of the two pools. The room was equip with everything you would need. We had a king size bed, full kitchen, ocean view and a wrap around deck. Umberto and Omar were our bartenders for most of the week. They both could make excellent drinks and were very attentive to us. The concierge was very helpful in making our arrangements for our tour of the Monkey River and the rental of the golf cart. Lacho was the shuttle bus driver for us and showed us all around the town of Plascencia. He gave us recommendations for good restaurants to visit. The staff at Chabil Mar Villas are all very attentive and try to make you feel like you are at home. The resort does not have a dedicated restaurant for you to go and eat in. They will bring your food to any place in the resort for you to enjoy. The beach at Chabil Mar Villas is not the best. There are big slippery rocks at the edge for erosion control. So it is a bit difficult to get into the ocean. The water is very warm but not clear at all. So we spent most of the time in the pool. The pools needed some work but, they will be working on them while they close down for one month. I would definitely recommend this resort for how well the staff treats you. Our daughter and her fiancé recently got married at Chabil Mar, and we could not have been happier with how it turned out! Chabil Mar is a beautiful place to stay at any given time, with local flowers surrounding the property, topiaries scattered throughout, 2 pools, a long deck and the sea at your feet. But the service, the food, the decorations, and the attention to details during the wedding were above and beyond what we expected! The Manager, Chris, bent over backwards to make sure everything was perfect, and their wedding planner, Therese, made sure everything went as planned (even with a variety of hiccups that had nothing to do with them or Chabil Mar). We are so grateful for their help, their service and their dedication to making this wedding a truly wonderful event that we will never forget!

My husband and I just returned from an amazing stay at Chabil Mar in Placencia. The resort has beautiful landscaping and ocean views. Lots of coconut palms and tropical plants and flowers. Hummingbirds everywhere! Our room was spacious and wonderfully decorated with local art. Comfortable bed and nicely stocked kitchen. But the best part of this resort is the wonderful staff! Vilma kept our room sparkling clean and greeted us each morning with a smile while delivering the daily newsletter and checked to make sure we had everything we needed. Deshaun and Donnis kept the good vibes and good drinks flowing out on the palapa-covered pier. Everyone we encountered at the resort had a smile and a “good morning” to share. The resort is close enough to walk into the village, but I would recommend a golf cart (which can be rented right at the resort for a reasonable fee) for convenience-and fun! We did not take part in any excursions since we just wanted to relax and take in the tropical locale, but other guests seemed very pleased. The food was excellent and could be delivered to you anywhere on the resort grounds. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Chabil Mar, for such a wonderful relaxing vacation!

Chabil Mar put together a package for our family (me, my wife and two sons 19 and 16) where we spent half the trip at Chabil Mar and half at Caves Branch (in the rain forest). The entire trip was amazing. The staff at Chabil Mar are incredible. We had lots of questions before the trip in terms of coordinating excursions and everything and they were extremely responsive and took care of everything. We felt like we had VIP treatment from the moment we stepped out of the airport until the very end. The Chabil Mar property is beautiful. We stayed in the two bedroom seafront premier. This was perhaps the nicest hotel accommodations we have ever had. It was a huge two-story house with a wrap-around porch on the first and second floors - both with unobstructed views of the ocean. The unit huge and is the beach is just two steps away from the front door. And having the laundry machines was a nice plus (particularly after spending time in the jungle at Caves Branch). The food was also top notch - we are not used to Filet Mignon and Lobster at an all-inclusive resort. All of our meals were delicious. And although we loved all of the meals at the resort, we also really appreciate that included in the package were vouchers to have a 3-course meal in town in Placencia at a list of different restaurants. We used one of the golf carts to get to town and our restaurant - which was a lot of fun and nice to see the town. But the best part was the excursions that are included in the package. The snorkeling trip at Silk Caye was amazing - the reef was beautiful and we were lucky to have close encounters with dolphins, huge sea tortoises and sharks. And the monkey river tour with Percy was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. All of the reviews of Percy were spot-on. He entertains you with his stories from the moment you get on the boat - and his personal connection to the natural surroundings and the monkeys is unparalleled. Make sure you ask for the tour with Percy. The beach and ocean are very nice here, but note that the ocean floor at this beach is a bit slimy. But, with some much to do in Belize, we did not spend a lot of time swimming in the ocean at the hotel. This was a perfect family vacation - and Chabil Mar is the perfect spot to spend a few days and experience a lot of what Belize has to offer.

Of the places I have stayed in Placencia, this is the best! Our accommodations for three people were beautiful and outstanding. The setting ... on the water and the wealth of flowers (of which grounds staff maintain and use at the resort for decor) ... is ideal. We felt intimate and secluded at Chabil Mar, but there was enough activity to never feel alone. And we were close to town and golf carts were available. I can't say enough about the staff! They shared duties among each other so were always busy yet were pleasant with the guests. The staff is like a happy family, especially the front-desk team, and make us feel like we were a part of it.
