The owner, Carl, will entertain you with lots of stories. He is fun and colourful. Unfortunately Jeff was out of town while we stayed at the inn so we didn’t have the opportunity to meet him. The building alone is fabulous. Ask for a tour of the once was restaurant in the back that remains in tack. Through the renovation, Jeff and Carl kept the integrity of this gorgeous home. The beds were so comfortable (and ample fluffy pillows); rooms are very spacious. Bonus - the rooms have a small fridge. But you will need to bring your own amenities such as body cream (and conditioner if you are staying in the front room). You don’t stay here for the breakfast, you stay here for the luxury of being in a 1800’s revamped mansion. And enjoying the very warm and friendly owners. (I get the feeling that Jeff is just as great as Carl.)

This was our first stay on the near north side and we wanted to experience a new neighborhood. The Inn has been wonderfully restored to resemble its' former glory. The rooms are decorated in peiod pieces and clearly care has been taken to make things comfortable. An important note is that the rooms are on the second and third floors, so be prepared to climb some steps. We were upgraded to a larger room upon our arrival and it had a full kitchen, though we planned to dine out the evening we stayed. If there is one suggestion I could offer, it is providing a more full serve breakfast. For the most part the offerings were continental and fend for yourself. We select B&Bs in many of the cities we visit and generally are impressed by the wondered morning breakfasts provided. We hope that some thought is given to making this happen here.

I love the city of Pittsburgh, especially the North Shore; I have walked past this beautiful Inn numerous times always on my list to stay💕 . This is an absolutely breathtaking place, Karl and Jeff are fabulous and have spent so much time and $ to bring this Mansion back to original after being boarded up for years. The beds are so comfy, so quiet, loved the breakfast area, sitting on the front porch… the photo album in the piano room gives you an idea how dedicated they were to restore this home that has so much history in Pittsburgh. The park across the street is wonderful to walk in. The location is ideal for the Museums and Galleries, the National Aviary is a must. Also , RandyLand is so cool. This will be the only place I shall ever stay in Pittsburgh 💕

This was a great property, with nicely decorated rooms. Jeff and Karl (owners) are very knowledgeable on the city and neighborhood. They took great pride in having things set and ready for guest. I would certainly recommend this place if visiting for a game or anything on the north side of Pittsburgh.

Gah!! What can I say, this place is AMAZING!!!!! Location is excellent, so many places to visit and eat within walking distance made it the perfect location. The owners, Jeff and Karl are the sweetest, friendliest people who were super helpful in giving us information about the neighborhood and recommendations for food and sights. We will DEFINITELY stay here the next time we are in Pittsburgh!!

We had a very comfortable 2 night stay in this beautifully restored and beautifully decorated mansion. Upon check-in Karl spent time pointing out areas of interest on the map, many of which were in close proximity. The inn was within easy walking distance to PNC park and the Andy Warhol museum. We stayed in the mini suite which was comfortable and roomy enough despite its name and quiet except for the rattling AC unit and we received assistance with our bags as it was on the 3rd floor. The breakfast was buffet style and basic but with plenty of choices - yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit and make your own waffles with strawberries and whipped cream if you were so inclined; however the breakfast area is small so you are at the mercy of other travelers who think it’s their own personal kitchen. Overall a lovely stay - we would stay there again

We stayed at the Inn for one night after reading the reviews. We were in Emma’s room. Karl greeted us and showed us to our room. The room was clean but outdated, with excessive drapes and furniture. There was a continental breakfast served in the cramped kitchenette, with very minimal choices. We were expecting an Inn to serve a good breakfast. Don’t expect more anything more than a holiday inn! I do not recommend this Inn.

EXCELLENT! On the north side of Pittsburgh. A mansion with clean fun well designed rooms with personality. Restaurants, and watering holes nearby. Parking is easy. A park across the street. A healthy persons walking distance to HEINZ FIELD (Steelers). Not far from PNC Park (Pirates). They make great recommendations on your preferences. Ignore the weird name.

Jeff and Carl lovingly restored this circa late 1800s mansion into a comfortable, beautiful calling card to the past. Our room was tastefully appointed, and with bath towels so soft we wanted to buy them. We had easy access to the entire property, enjoying our own wine and apps on the front porch with a panoramic view of the park across the street. Lovely! Breakfast was bar type/serve yourself. This gem of a place is up for sale, so invest for a night or … longer?
