Residence Inn Pittsburgh North Shore

I had to cancel my hotel about a week in advance due to a sudden change in plans. (Things I could not help) they refused to refund me my deposit even though I wasn’t even in the same city that weekend.

Great cost-effective hotel in the North Shore. It is conveniently located near restaurants and the stadium. 

Amazing amenities. Full kitchen. Very clean!

Older hotel. Room was clean but things are breaking down like the closet door would not work and the bath drain was an issue. The gym was small, dusty treadmills, not much of any weight equipment except some free weights. Pool was closed. Parking is expensive at $27 but you can go in and out. Breakfast was about average for what one would expect. For the price I paid , which was about $130 before parking, it was a fair deal considering the location.

The only positive things to say about this hotel are the location and size of the rooms. Everything else was extremely disappointing for the money that was spent. We brought my 9 and 13 year old nieces down for their first concert and liked that it was near the stadium for safety reasons and convenience. We stayed in the 2 bedroom executive suite which was just shy of $1500 for 2 nights. When we first got to our room, one of the kids found a pair of men's shorts on the bedroom floor. That was the first indicator that the cleaning was either rushed or not done at all. The shower curtain had mold on it and the shower itself drained very slowly. By the time you finished your shower, you were standing in 3 inches of water. One of the lights in the kitchen didn't work. Dishes and side of garbage can were disgustingly dirty. The paper towel holder was also broken. The fridge made a loud humming noise the entire stay and the ice maker was not working. This hotel doesn't have ice machines so we had to go back downstairs with the ice box from the freezer so that a staff person could put ice into it from the kitchen. The fitness center was closed our entire stay and the pool was very small and damaged. On our receipt at checkout, it shows that parking was included in our room rates but we were still charged $54 extra for the 2 days of parking. So, even though we liked being close to PNC Park, the filthy room was not worth the convenience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you don't mind staying somewhere dirty.

I've stayed at many Residence Inns, and our experience here was not up to the brand standard. However, the location was extremely convenient and accessible. We were in town for a small event, just staying one night. This was really just a place to shower and sleep. The room was in a bit of disrepair. It didn't seem dated, but basic maintenance issues had not been addressed. Closet door was off its track and didn't want to go back on. Towel Hangers fell off the wall. Mattress on fold out couch was badly stained. Bedclothes for the fold out was missing a pillow case. Mattress on main bed had a strange crunch spot that could be felt through the sheets. Toilet seat was wobbly. TV Remote was non-responsive. The breakfast buffet had waffle irons, but no waffle batter in the dispensers. There was no milk for the cereal. Breakfast bar attendant was entirely focused on their phone to the exclusion of anything guests might ask. There had been a snowstorm this weekend, so the parking lot was messy, but even if things had been ideal, the lot was very small for the size of the hotel.

Perfect location if you are attending an event in the North Shore area! You step outside of the hotel and are right outside of the People’s Gate for PNC Park or 10 minute walk to Lombardi. We came for a show at Stage AE & were so happy about the quick walk to and from the venue. Additionally, you can quickly walk down by the river or take a stroll into downtown. Breakfast in the morning is one of the best services I have had at an RI. The man who sets up the service is a straight hustler & makes sure everything is top tier (sausage patties were delicious). Everything was fresh and hot. If you are parking in the lot, watch out for nails. There is a construction site across the street and we left the parking lot with 2 nails in our tires. (Note we stayed Nov 2023) Just want to say Julian at the front desk was so nice! Extremely knowledgeable about the area.

Nice suites with all the basic amenities. The staff was very accommodating. Since it's right across the street from the (PNC) stadium, it's a great place to stay if you're a sports fan. Also, the Warhol Museum is 2 blocks away (a 5 min. walk).

I stayed one night in a two bedroom suite on a roadtrip with a friend. My impressions of the hotel is that it was not well maintained. Tiles were missing in one of the bathrooms, a window was shattered, towels were put in the ventilation vents, the dishwasher in the kitchenette was beeping and impossible to turn of. In addition the cleaning was not the best. However, the breakfast was ok, and it was nice that it was included in the rate. Upon checkout, the Assistant Manager seemed to take the comments seriously on the state of the room and gave us a discount accordingly which I think was a very positive gesture and increased my rating today. She said actions would be taken and I hope so.
