After arriving at this hotel, we were really impressed with how lovely the area and the hotel was. The room was above our expectations, the staff were friendly and the location was perfect. For the first 3 days of our holiday, we were really happy. However, we started noticing that the majority of hotel guests appeared to be regular attendees and they had a good rapport with staff, but we began to feel as though we were not receiving the same level of service. Trying to get a seat around the pool was near impossible as people claimed beds ridiculously early in the morning, some of which didn’t even occupy these beds until the afternoon, a few even leaving their towels on whilst leaving the complex. On the odd day that we were able to get a couple of hours round the pool, we felt as though we were being gawped at, whispered about and we were made to feel uncomfortable. There was an incident where a member of staff implied we had stolen a seat from a regular, baring in mind the seat was empty and there was no indication anyone was sitting here. From this point on, we felt as though we were being made to feel uncomfortable by other guests, we assumed that the staff member had been telling other guests about the incident with the seating. After a couple of days, we heard in the local village that a member of staff had posted a Facebook status complaining that they’d not received any tips and so we assume this is why we were receiving a cold shoulder from guests, we usually tip at the end of the holiday however, we decided against this now. We tried to spend as little time at the hotel as possible and therefore spent the majority of our time in the local village or down at the harbour. To sum up, lovely hotel, perfect location but be weary of the regulars who may not be so friendly.
