Hotels in der Nähe von Moinho das Lajes, Pico Island

Das Sara Village ist als ein weit verbreitetes Hotel, große Zimmer, sauber mit gemeinsamen Frühstücksraum etc., die alles, was notwendig ist, im Garten gibt es eine scharfe Meerblick Patio. Miguel ist ein außergewöhnlicher Gastgeber, wir konnten kein verfügbares Auto finden, aber dank ihm am nächsten Tag der Problem gelöst Auto mit Privatfahrer für den ganzen Tag, freundlich und sehr zugänglich.

Manchmal war das Personal sehr nett und benutzerfreundlich und manchmal starr und hart. Es gibt keine Küche oder Kühlschrank, um die Kunden zu beherbergen. Die Schlafzimmer sind sehr klein und die Betten sind laut. Beide von 6 Betten haben weder eine Aufnahme noch Licht. Keine Pfanne oder Seife. Die Gesundheitsdienste sind weit von den Schlafzimmern entfernt. Die Toiletten strömten und es gab immer Wasser auf dem Boden. Das Risiko, zu schleifen! Keine Klimaanlage, keine Ventilator und keine Schranken. Sie müssen ihre eigene Kette mitbringen. Das war sauber, und die Architektur dieses alten Gebäudes ist wunderschön.

Es gibt in Magdalena offenbar dieses größere Hotel für Touristen. Es liegt direkt am Hafen, so dass der Weg zur Fähre nicht weit ist. Das Hotel hat mehrere Flügel. Ein Teil der Zimmer hat Blick auf den Berg Pico. Ich hatte das Glück, ein Upgrade zu bekommen auf eine äußerst geräumige Suite, Zimmer 216, mit sehr großem Balkon und Blick auf den Hafen. Das Housekeeping funktioniert sehr gut, das erste Mal auf den Azoren, dass die Zimmer schon mittags fertig waren. Wieder keine Steckdose im Bad (ist das hier überall so?), aber ein gut funktionierender, fest installierter Fön. Kleiner Mangel ist die Situation beim Frühstück. Der Frühstücksraum ist für die Menge an Gästen viel zu klein. Er war bei meinem Besuch (Vorsaison) jeden Tag überfüllt, so dass die Gäste sich Plätze im Vorraum suchen mussten. Es wurden jedoch dort keine zusätzlichen Tische aufgestellt. Das Frühstück selber besticht durch sehr viele Kuchen und Torten, im Kühlschrank gibt es Joghurts. Sie können sich an mehreren Stationen mit Kaffee versorgen. Frisches Obst wird gereicht und es gab an mehreren Tagen auch Fruchtsalat, zum Teil allerdings mit Obst aus der Dose. Das Hotel hat auch einen hübsch angelegten Pool mit Liegen. Es gibt Handtuchkarten, mit denen man sich ein entsprechendes Liegetuch ausleihen kann.

I stayed 3 nights in this hotel as part of a group. The location on the coast, opposite Pico, is good, the (unheated) pool set in gardens looks nice. The rooms are small but adequate. It seems that the hotel is divided into two parts: those that have views over the pool, with coffee/tea facilities and those which don't (have views of the back of the restaurant and a bit of garden with some building works on the wall)! You can tell I was in the latter! This hotel prides itself on its breakfasts, with lots of home-baked goods (cakes, pies, pastries, biscuits). Unfortunately that is not much good if you can't eat gluten. It does not offer dinner in the evening. Since our group trip involved full board, we were sent to a pretty basic cafe up the road with formica tables and a very limited menu (vegetable soup, then grilled tuna or meat, then desert - which included tinned fruit salad one night). We had the same offer for 3 nights! The fish/meat was cooked freshly and well, at least! One big downside was that I slept with my window open rather than using aircon and got many mosquito bites - the only place this happened in the Azores. Maybe to do with the garden. Two things really annoyed me/us. On the last morning we were leaving early, as was another larger party. Our guide negotiated at length to get us a partial breakfast (excluding cooked items) before we left. We were told this would be in reception. Again, since I can't eat baked goods there was further negotiation to get me an apple and an orange set aside, as a special favour. When we arrived at 6.30 that morning, there had been dry sliced bread, sliced cheese and ham and coffee. I say 'there had been' because the previous group had eaten most of it (see picture). There was about 1 cm of milk left a jug to go with the remains of the coffee for our group of 9 and, of course, no fruit for me. That was very poor given that both the ferry and the flight out of Sao Jorge leave early so guests must regularly need to leave before breakfast opens at 7.30 am. The final insult was that I went to take my extra supplies of cheese/ham (because I couldn't eat much of their food) out of the room fridge when I left, only to find that it was warm. The fridge had been unplugged and the plug tucked behind the bin. This is a hotel with notices, if you know what I mean. There was a notice on the fridge whose English section said ' This refrigerator is for your use and is empty. If you wish to fill with any of these items, please contact directly the reception or ask for the room-service.' 'These items', was not explained/specified. So why unplug it if it is for my use? My food was ruined.

Wir logierten im Rahmen einer Gruppenreise für 4 Nächte in diesem Hotel. Es liegt wunderschön am Hafen von Horta mit Blick auf Pico, den wir bei bestem Wetter auch gesehen haben. Alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants sind fußläufig entfernt. Beim Frühstück kann man einen schönen Blick auf den Hafen genießen. Wirklich schön. Als wir mit Verspätung am Abend um 21.40 Uhr angekommen sind, teilte man uns mit, dass das Restaurant pünktlich um 22. Uhr schließe. Keine Ausnahme. In der Bar gab es gerade nur was zu trinken. Okay, draußen war auch alles zu. Das Frühstück amnächsten Tag war nicht gerade gut: kalte Eierspeisen und ein Sehr dünner Pulverkaffee aus der Maschine. Das Personal war sehr unfreundlich und räumte lautstark ab, aufgefüllt wurde das Büffet nur auf konkrete Nachfrage . Das“Beste“ aber war das Reklamationsmanagement. Um 14 Uhr fragten wir mal an der Rezeption nach, ob sie unser Zimmer reinigen würden, um 16 Uhr war es immer noch nicht fertig. Als wir dann nochmals an der Rezeption nachfragten, wurden sie sehr laut und unverschämt und sagten, wir seien selbst schuld, da wir um halb 9, als wir frühstückten, das Bitte nicht stören Schild rausgehängt haben… Das hatten wir aber kurz nach 9 wieder weggemacht, da wir das Hotel verließen. …Okay, um 17 Uhr wurde es fertig,nach dreimaligem Nachfragen. Die Zimmer und das Hotel sind abgewohnt undmüssen dringend renoviert werden. Der schöne Innenhof ist verwahrlost. Wir können dieses Hotel wegen des Zustandes und vor allem wegen seines unprofessionellen und unfreundlichen Personals und Managements nicht empfehlen.

Stayed here for 4 nights and were taken aback by the fact that during our stay the dining room was shut in the evenings. We were advised we could have lunch but we were on a walking holiday and out all day. We were further disappointed by the news that on the Saturday breakfast had to be taken in our rooms due to wedding preparations which seem to take over all the hotel. Initially we were advised that we would have a list of breakfast items to chose from and we could have use of the pool. However come the breakfast it was a basic bread roll, pastry and cake breakfast and coffee was black. Milk and fruit were eventually provided when I requested them. If the pool was really open we would have had to have swum in front of all the wedding guests who were sat at the tables for hours. It was clear that the staff on reception were not giving us the full story and there seemed very few non wedding guests in the hotel. We were very annoyed about this as it was our 40th wedding anniversary that day. It was also awkward when we came back to our room mid morning in our walking gear to come across the bride and her father in the corridor outside our room sorting out her train before going to the chapel which was directly infront of our balcony. We were given a complimentary bottle of wine and cheese board late that evening as a goodwill gesture but only after constant complaining on my part. On a positive note normal breakfasts were outstanding and could be eaten poolside looking across to Pico. Our room was beautiful as was the rest of the hotel.
