Stayed for 3 nights. Large hotel but looking a little tired. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 2nd floor looking towards the town except you couldn’t see out of the windows for the covering on them and the window no key opened a small amount. Above us was the restaurant and it’s was very noisy late at night and at 6 am with them moving things around up there. We had booked to eat there the first night but when we arrived at the restaurant we were told it was now a buffet, this was disappointing, I certainly didn’t get value for money. Breakfast was ok scrambled egg, mushrooms but no granola. Location is brilliant for this hotel though but if I went to stay in Régua I would look at the other hotel.

The Casa de Sao Domingos was a very classy, well run guesthouse in the town of Regua in the Duro Valley. Manual the owner was responsive in our corespondence and this is a family run operation with at least 2 generations of service. Private gated oasis just outside of the town. Restaurants are a short 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk. Rooms were well appointed, breakfast in dining room was abundant and cozy. Will prepare omelettes to order and staff is very attentive and helpful. Eat at Table Aneto Wine and restaurant. Won't be disappointed, but need a reservation. Small and great service, food and wine pairings. The River restaurant was kind of a mess both with service, reservation, and food was only average. Regua is a cool town, but removed from many of the attractions we were interested in, ie. wineries, tours etc. and needed to drive 30-40 minutes on the mountain roads (had a rental car) to get to any of our tours (vineyard tour with Duro Walks and Antonio is phenomenal, Olive Museum, boat tours). Met great people staying here who we enjoyed dining out with. All in all, other than location and access to rest of the valley, it was great. If you are afraid of heights and narrow roads, don't drive it yourself.

Muito fraco. Só o preço é bom. Quarto 112 com cheiro de cigarro impregnado. Parece que não deixam as janelas abertas até o cheiro passar. O box do chuveiro parece muito frágil, ao abrir/fechar. À noite, quando voltamos do restaurante, a recepção estava fedendo a cigarro, como se alguém tivesse fumado lá. Pedimos uma água e não havia. Tivemos que sair e comprar fora do hotel. As camas são razoáveis, mas rangem bastante. Tela da tv bem pequena. A porta estava agarrando no piso e difícil de abrir/fechar. Falta de manutenção!!! O quarto é ao lado da rua. Mesmo com vidros duplos, fica muito barulhento. O café da manhã é sofrível, com pouquíssimas opções, sendo que é servido apresuntado, e não presunto. Máquina de café com mais opções (chocolate, cappuccino, etc). Nem água é disponibilizada.

Hotel de 2 estrelas, mas com a qualidade e serviço de um hotel de 4 estrelas. Boas instalações e bom pequeno almoço. Pessoal muito simpático e profissional. Inclusive tiveram a atenção de selecionar um pequeno almoço adequado às minhas restrições alimentares, sem glútem e sem lactose. Tem piscinas exteriores e boas instalações para a época do Verão. Hotel muito acolhedor e com excelente vista para o rio e lindas paisagens circundantes. Sentimo-nos em casa. Recomendo.
