Aug 2024 - When we arrived we were impressed by the property outside. It's a beautiful historical home. The grounds were w really nice with a fountain at the front along with flowers. The door to enter was quite interesting as well. It was a beautiful huge door. As we entered we felt like we went back in time. It was well decorated and we had a warm welcome from the time we entered. It was our anniversary and Lisa was kind enough to offer us an upgrade to our room. When we entered our room it was so beautiful. We were back in time but it was tastefully decorated as was the entrance to the inn. We were very pleased with our 2 night stay. We definitely recommend staying here. Breakfast was very good on both days. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great. Thank you Lisa, Rigo and your staff.

I hope you don't have to cancel! They have an awesome scam they are running. Me and my brother had an event in Pembroke. Booked 3 rooms. First warning sign: They charged us for four rooms [claimed a mistake yet it is still on my card]. We called within 2 days to cancel well within their policy as the rooms were booked for 5 months later. Sweet as could be as they said no problem, let us fix that. Call 2 hey did you cancel? So sorry not sure how we missed that. Call 3 Hey what's up? Sorry we had a new girl on the desk we will have that done today. Call 4: HEY! Oh I see the problem it was charged to the restaurant no wonder we missed it. We will get right on that. Call 5: I got a "we can't wait to see you this weekend" email. Called again. The OWNER said I will do it myself call you back in an hour. Call 6: I am sorry Liza is not here, I am just the waitress. RUN. So many nice places in Pembroke. Places that don't steal your money.

While we did not stay overnight, we dined here for lunch with a family of 14. I was initially nervous that there would be issues with such a large group-but this place is a hidden gem in Pembroke. The restaurant itself is nice, comfortable, clean and pleasantly decorated.the young lady server was pleasant friendly and efficient. There was not one mistake on drink orders or food orders-all were delivered to the right person and the 14 meals all came out of the kitchen hot and with little waiting. The unanimous view was that the food was very good. The fish and chips were crispy and not over or undercooked. Shepherds pie was tasty and the salad was fulsome and hearty with eggs and lots of fixins! The total cost was MORE than reasonable and the overall experience has guaranteed that we will be back!!!!

I cancelled the $254 night trip 5hrs after booking it. I seen two reviews that breakfast was not included. I called the Inn myself. When I asked if breakfast was included, he said yes. I mentioned I just read two reviews that a $5.00 voucher was given towards the price of breakfast. The employee back tracked and verified that. False advertising. B&B includes breakfast. Their web site should be explicit on the $5.00 voucher and breakfast is not included with your booking. Glad I read the reviews!!

The breakfast is not free, they give you five dollars off the price per person if you eat breakfast there. The Kensington was cramped and wind whistled in through the windows even when they were closed and latched. There's too much furniture in the small room and no proper desk. The room is very dark and light cant be let in due to the curtains being fixed in place. There's no Oak Room fine dining and the diner they have set up serves basic food with the Caesar being the only cocktail available. The food is good and the bed was comfortable. With no sprinklers and iffy wiring I felt like I was in a fire trap in this deteriorating, once grand, house.

Beautiful clean facility, staff is unwelcoming and very rude. Attended a wedding, the owners seemed overwhelmed with hosting an event for roughly 40 people. Guests had to stand during ceremony (including several elderly) as chairs we were told would be set up were not. The wedding cake that was to be made from an in house pastry chef was a plain slab cake that looked like something bought at a grocery store bakery. There were diners cutting through the reception room all night heading to a third dining room we had been told would be closed off to the public. They even had people walking through during the best man speech. Food was mediocre and wait staff was very rude. Many guests commented how rude the staff were throughout the weekend. Disappointed as the facility itself is beautiful and ideal for an intimate wedding but maybe they should stick to being a B&B and not advertise as a wedding venue.

Nice place to stay....but would not recommend eating here. Food was very disappointing. My husband and I stayed here in September along with another couple ( sister & BIL).The grounds, the building and the rooms are beautiful and full of wonderful history. We were checked in by a lovely lady who was very friendly and full of knowledge about the history of Grey Gables (I think her name was Linda...sorry if that's wrong). After checking in, we went for a walk to explore Pembroke. After a while, my husband and BIL decided to return to Inn and went to relax and have a drink in the The Pantry. They were not impressed with the woman serving them (she was not the least bit friendly until Linda(?) told her they were guests at the Inn at which point she became a little more pleasant. When my sister and I returned from our exploring, we joined them in The Pantry for a drink then went up to our rooms to get ready for dinner at The Oak Door. This is where things started going downhill. We had read good reviews for this restaurant (which boasts a "world class menu" on their website) and we were all looking forward to a great evening. My husband and I don't often eat at expensive or fancy restaurants but we have enough experience to expect the service and food to be top notch. Unfortunately, neither was the case here. Three in our group ordered the filet Mignon. Two out of the 3 steak orders were cooked wrong and had to be sent back. The potatoes and vegetables were lukewarm at best and the chicken I had was tough (reheated??). Maybe the chef was ill or he was off that Saturday night....but the food was a disappointing AVERAGE and definitely not world class. The service personnel were friendly but lacking in the training expected from staff at an upscale establishment. Wine and food were served to the men before the women and plates were removed from table before everyone was done eating (all acceptable if you are at a roadside pub but not at a classy restaurant). When the waiter presented us with our bill he did apologize for the error in the steak orders but there was no offer of any sort of compensation (price reduction, free dessert....nothing). Breakfast was included with the room and we were told that it was served between 9 and 10 am. The four of us went down at 9:10 (first ones in dining room) and were seated by the male owner who also waited on us. He offered us coffee and my BIL said "none for me, thanks, I don't drink coffee". The owner then started teasing him about the fact that he doesn't drink coffee (nothing rude) and we all chuckled a little at this. Then my BIL asked for orange juice and was told (in a gruff voice) "NO". Again we all laughed, thinking he was still teasing BIL....but he never brought out any orange juice so I guess he meant it. There was only one other couple in the dining hall who came in about 15 minutes after us, so he wasn't run off his feet with just the 6 guests to wait on. Nothing was explained to us other th
