Polean Farm Cottages

We really enjoyed our stay , the place was clean, a good size and in a good location, the electric charger on site was really helpful, the site itself is lovely . We did feel the £80 for the 2 dogs was very expensive though, we have stayed in numerous air bnbs before with our dogs and never paid that much , we’ve normally paid £20-£40. And even so there is normally some local treats for the dogs , a towel and bowl, which there was none of these at Polean farm. The curtain upstairs doesn’t really block out much light , so light evenings with a toddler was tough and I feel people who may like a lay in wouldn’t get one due to the light coming in. so it may be benefit from a good blind or better curtain.

We spent Christmas in The farmhouse it was amazing . 12 of us in total and we all loved it . The children fed the animals on Christmas Eve , The hot tub is fabulous. The log burners made is very cosy. The beds were clean and comfortable. We definitely would return to polean farm . Thank you for making it a magical family Christmas 🎄

The cottages were so much better than we expected! By mistake (ours) we arrived first at the wrong cottage-and then moved to the correct one. Both cottages we saw were extremely well fitted out and very comfortable and spacious. Log fires were very acceptable in autumn. The whole complex was very pleasingly laid out with gardens and greenery around and of the surrounding countryside is wonderful. Being elderly we didn't partake of childrens activities but it was still nice to look at the goats and ponies. On the day we were due to leave we had a message that our midday boat was postponed to 10 p.m. This meant a whole day with no accomodation. Sarah was wonderful. She rearranged her bookings so we could stay the extra day. A lovely situation near Looe and Polperro

My sister and i with our 5 young children under 10 have just returned from a wonderful week at the farm house at Polean farm. The house is large comfortable sitting areas, great wifi and lovely big bedrooms. There is nothing we can fault at all everything you need for a self catering holiday is there. The children loved the pony rides, animal feeding and especially the tractor rides. The hot tub in the garden well what can i say was the most amazing hot tub EVER . I can highly recommend this accommodation for larger families. We will be back. Thank you

We loved our cozy cottage and all the animals we could fed and pet every day, especially the horses. :-) Also the playground and the indoor play area is great, however needs a bit updating. Staff was very helpful and fast responding when needed. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and recommend it for all families with toddlers.

We were 6 adults and 3 kids in the Farmhouse. Bedrooms were a lovely size, and thankfully there are 2 bathrooms upstairs. Kitchen was big enough to cook meals (lovely big fridge) but the dining room table isn't big enough to seat more than 6 adults, even with the seats at the bar we were short on space. Kids loved wandering around the property, feeding the animals and playing in the playground. They had a wonderful time and haven't stopped talking about it since we returned. The pool at the local holiday park is very basic but its a lovely thing to offer and we appreciated it on a rainy day. The property overall is a bit tired. The beds could do with new mattresses, the bed I slept in was sagging on one side. The knives in the kitchen are a big hazard as they are so blunt. There isn't quite enough cutlery for a full house (it advertised as sleeping 10-12). We didn't have bathmats. Information on their guestbook is very out of date, from directions (road signs have changed since it was written) to the cost of laundry (its £2-3 depending on washing machine settings, and honestly its a cheek to charge considering the machine is in very poor condition). What was a real sour experience was the constant in and out of the property owners/maintenance to install a hot tub in the garden while we were staying there (that wouldn't be available during my stay so of no benefit to me). We were asked if an electrician could come sort out some wiring which we reluctantly agreed to as they would likely be in the garden while we were out. This snowballed into someone being in the garden every other day, sometimes we had warning, a couple times they just appeared, and it stopped being asked and we were just told they were coming. I really didn't appreciate spending over 2k on a family holiday and having to deal with workman coming in and out the property, and communicating with the owner about it, especially as I felt they took advantage of our goodwill and just did what they wanted most of the time. While I didn't mention this to the owner, it didn't feel like a big deal until the last couple days of our stay and at that point, felt too late to bring it up as the worst had already happened. Furthermore, after checking online, the Farmhouse wasn't booked for 4 days after we left so it really wasn't an urgent task. I believe this is unique to my stay and wouldn't happened again, but I do wonder if the owners have stopped caring about the experience of their guests.
