Tashi Namgay Resort

We stayed at the hotel for the last two nights of our stay in Bhutan. It is very convenient for the airport, in fact, the runway can be viewed from the hotel but because traffic is light this does not cause an issue. The hotel covers a wide area with blocks of rooms spread around the estate. We liked our room, we were in one of the newer blocks although this was located some distance from reception. It was very spacious and well equipped with a comfortable bed, tv, safe, kettle and effective heater. Equally spacious bathroom although hot water availability was a little hit and miss on occasions. All the staff are most pleasant. The only slightly disappointing feature for us was the food, particularly the evening meal served buffet style which was heavily geared towards Indian cuisine with only limited western style options.

We spent 2 lovely nights here. The rooms are fine for what we needed and the country. Service was very good. Food selection is not huge but adequate and very much local cuisine. Thanks for a nice stay and experiencing your amazing country and culture.

Pros: directly faces the airport so can watch planes take off/ land. Sprawling resort with gift shop, bar, spa. Rooms are large. WiFi is relatively fast (compared to other Bhutan hotels). Bar is nice. Buffet breakfast is average with made-to-order omelettes, fried rice, noodles, fruit. Friendly service. Cons: outdated gardens/ grounds. Archery (600 Nu for 30 min) was in a field of weeds with 2 broken arrows. Bathroom smells of sewage. Bed mattress was essentially a wooden box. Not within walking distance of anything (town is 250 Nu / 12 min drive away). Breakfast coffee was pretty bad. Limited hot water for shower.

Great location, approximately 30 minute drive from the start of Tiger’s nest. Very nice setting overlooking the river, set back from the main street. The rooms are large with comfortable amenities. Restaurant serves nice breakfast buffet. Helpful and professional staff. Reasonably priced. We’re definitely stay here again.

It's a beautiful resort located right next to Airport and a River flowing alongside. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The property is green. The staff is extremely polite and respectful. Quality services. Value for money and would love to come back.

This hotel is very close to the airport, in fact we could see the aeroplanes landing from our room! However, it’s too far away to walk into town, a taxi is required. The rooms are ok, and the restaurant served a good buffet with drinks available from a relatively inexpensive bar.
