My family & I usually stay in T*ntr*m (been our no 1. option in Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Tangerang for a while), but considering NY traffic, decided hotel next to mall as safer option, and I think Marriott Yogya will be our no 1. option in Yogyakarta now.
PRE-STAY
Staying experience actually starts the second we finished the hotel reservation, maybe its long before we even arrive at the hotel. Most dont really optimize this.
What I will highlight is Marriott really put my requests (birthday decor in specific room, connecting rooms) into the system, where everyone can check. From the one handling the WhatsApp to the receptionist the day we arrive, Ilham. And they execute my request really well.
I've experienced some that forget my request and ended up decorating the wrong room, or not facilitating the request, even though they said they will facilitate.
*see pic 8 - 11. It doesnt have to be expensive, businesses have to calculate the cost and margin. Whats important, for me, is put some effort into it. Its part of making the stay memorable.
STAY
I love it when :
- the moment we arrive, the staff helps us by opening the car door, w/ the smile and greeting. Not from just one person, but every staff did the smile and greeting.
- Ilham texted that the other room is ready. Most just rely on guest will be the one to follow up, but not Marriott.
- we asked the way to mall entrance, the staff took us to the entrance, not just directing w/ hands.
- they put anti-slip mat in shower area (pic 6), such a functional addition for safety. Because aesthetic needs to meet w/ function.
- we went out at 8.30 in the morning for culinary & coffee around Yogyakarta and put the cleaning sign on, but forget to call, just to communicate that we want the room cleaned while we're out. 2,5 hours later when we're back, those 2 rooms are neat & tidy.
Some hotels dont notice the difference those make for guest(s).
These, for me, really help building the memorable staying exp.

AAnonymer BenutzerDas Zimmer ist gut. Es ist nicht so groß, aber sie stellen das Layout wirklich gut, so dass es immer noch geräumig fühlt. Kein Schrank, nur ein begrenzter offener Raum, um Ihre Kleidung zu hängen.
Ich habe hier 2 Nächte geblieben, und leider habe ich während dieses Aufenthalts viele Probleme:
1. Nach dem Einchecken ging ich sofort in mein Zimmer und zeigte sich, dass es ein super bewölktes Zimmer ist (ein anderer Gast hat gerade ausgecheckt und sie haben es noch nicht gereinigt). So musste ich zurück in die Lobby gehen und um ein anderes Zimmer bitten.
2. In meinem neuen Zimmer wurde die AC leckt und sie ständig zerfallen, solange die AC auf war. Ich musste eine Kehle, einen Container oder was es auch ist. Er sagte dem Personal, er würde folgen. Nichts taten sie bis zum Tag, an dem ich auscheckte.
3. Am zweiten Tag konnte ich die Zimmertür nicht einmal mit meiner eigenen Zimmerkarte öffnen. Sie haben die Karte nur für eine Nacht gesetzt, so musste ich wieder in die Lobby gehen. Sie haben einfach wieder aufgestellt, ohne zu erklären, warum es passiert ist.
Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr nett und freundlich. Nur all diese Probleme haben mich den Eindruck erweckt, dass dieses Hotel nicht professionell genug ist.
Frühstück war gut. Nicht viele Optionen verfügbar, aber gut genug, um Ihren Tummy zu füllen. Lage ist großartig. Zimmer ist sauber. Begrenzte Parkplatz, aber sie hatten Valley Service.

QQimaqukanhailaDie längere Reise in diesem Sonnenuntergang ist auch das zufriedeneste Hotel. Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Die saubere Landschaft des Hotels Pool ist nicht zu geräumig. Essig Frühstück und Pool können Vulkane sehen und schöne Fotos machen. Die Zimmer sind groß und ausgestattet. Die beste Wahl ist, mit Kindern zu reisen. Das Zimmer ist groß und das Super-Fenster ist groß. Es ist bequem zu essen in der Stadt, um rechts auf die Straße zu gehen, es gibt einen kleinen Laden mit Mäsche-Restauranten, die Rindfleischsuppe essen, die Biffe sind super lecker und billig, ich möchte wirklich wieder gehen! Das Bild hat einen Vulkan, der vom Zimmer aufgenommen wurde, und es hat ein gutes Morgen, um es zu filmen.

DDr. Ong SoetantoI really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The hospitality feels genuine and the staff are warm and attentive without being over the top. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable straight away.
Breakfast is pretty standard, but still good enough to start the day. The swimming pool is nice and well maintained and yes great if you want to relax a bit after meetings.
The hotel is located in a residential area, so it’s pleasant for a morning walk. If you’re heading to Malioboro, it’s about 20 minutes by GrabBike and around 30 minutes by car, depending on traffic. It’s also close to Plaza Ambarrukmo, which is convenient.
If you don’t feel like eating at the hotel restaurant, there are local spots just a short walk away like bakso and soto nearby are cheap and tasty.
Overall, a comfortable stay for business trips. I’d come back again if I have meetings in the area.

The rooms are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with just the right balance between functionality and style. While not overly large, the space is well laid out and feels cozy rather than cramped. The bed was comfortable, and overall cleanliness was well maintained throughout the stay.
Location-wise, ARTOTEL is convenient for exploring Yogyakarta, with easy access to cafes, local eateries, and key attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the pleasant experience.
Overall, ARTOTEL Yogyakarta is a great choice if you enjoy boutique-style hotels with character and personality. It’s not just a place to sleep, but a creative space that reflects the vibrant cultural spirit of the city.

Der Rest ist nicht zu erwarten.
1. Lage ist weit von Stadt und Flughafen entfernt.
2. Die Ausstattung ist sehr alt. Viele Dinge werden zerstört und noch nicht ersetzt oder repariert.
3. Denn alles ist alt und datiert, sie sehen auch schmutzig aus. Bettwäsche sind voll von Farben!
4. Der Wasserdruck der Dusche ist sehr niedrig. Nehmen Sie lange Zeit zum Baden.
Ich habe hier nur gebucht, weil die Veranstaltung, die ich wollte, in diesem Hotel gehostet wurde. Freut mich, dass ich meinen Aufenthalt nach der Veranstaltung nicht verlängerte. Es tut mir leid, aber ich werde dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen.
