I’m really not sure how to review this one night stay. The room itself once we finally got in, was decent. Good shower, very comfy bed, good location, good parking. However, we turned up just before 6pm and we got into our room around 8.15pm. During the middle part of this, we got very wet trying to get a reply from the ‘hotel’ buzzer, spent a lot of money on phone calls to the ‘owner/manager’ and thought a lot about where else we could stay overnight because we were clearly not going to get into the hotel we had booked. It was a complete mess. No response from the buzzer and no response from the 2 phone numbers we were given. Having made 20+ calls, we eventually got a call back with lots of (quite complex) instructions on how to get our key, where the room was located (different location) and - specifically because I asked how to get through the gate of the new location - an explanation as to how to actually get into the car park entrance to our room. This really isn’t what you want for a one night stay when you’ve driven 300 miles that day. Breakfast is not a buffet - as advertised when we booked - but a few random bits in your room. I have no idea if these are changed for the next guest. Trip.com couldn’t or wouldn’t help - I’m really not sure - and the owner was not contactable. I’ve had no apology since. The explanation we were given as we stood outside in the rain was that the person ‘had been in a meeting’. They may need to review their reception processes. The reason I’m not giving this a one-star review is because the person who finally rang us to tell us what to do, was lovely and the room was pretty good (air con needed, but otherwise a good room).

Staff is nice and so tidy and neat, the hotel facilities are in good conditions and everything is good except need driving to Berk for dining.

Ausgezeichnete Unterkunft in diesem SPA-Hotel, angenehmes Personal und vielfältiges und riesiges Frühstück. Es gibt eine Stunde SPA pro Tag, aber die Zeitspanne muss vorbehalten werden (dies verhindert, dass der SPA endlich verblendet wird und erholt sich).

Great location short drive from the Ferry Port. Check in unfortunately not until 1600 although could check in earlier for a charge Beautiful Chateau. Pleasant gardens but not overly manicured lawns and wooded areas. Public rooms beautifully restored and furnished. Bedroom was on the 2nd floor with a view over the front lawn and was nicely furnished with a large comfy bed although the room was small with one chair and no work surface fridge or air conditioning but fan available . The en suite bathroom had no shower curtain and an unpleasant smell of drains not unusual for France. No lift two flights of stairs to 2 nd floor rooms final flight steep. Difficult for someone with even minor mobility problems. Breakfast not included but good continental provision with the addition of scrambled eggs and sausages. Dinner superb although very limited menu choices. Exquisite presentation and service. Good value accommodation in a lovely location. Would recommend highly.

Nice location however the hotel car park it is not well signposted. Average breakfast for the price. No drawers in the room no minibar or fridge, very basic amenities for a 4 star hotel. The shower door in the bath went beyond the bath edge and allow water to go on the floor creating a paddle in the bathroom. The restaurant was a bit of a disappointing experience considering the price to pay for a mediocre dinner. The staff are completely oblivious to guests requests or suggestions. We ordered the deep fried squid and they were just served as finger food, piping hot when I asked for a plate to transfer the squid from a napkin cone with kitchen foil propping the squid to make it look plentiful, I was told tge you have to eat it with your fingers??. Pepper steak that tasted and looked terrible, the steak was cooked to the right temperature however burned on the outside, the so called peppercorn sauce was just a pan wash, no pepper at all, no stock or seasoning, it tasted like water and salt. I had a bottle of red Burgundy that I drink regularly and to my dissatisfaction on tasting the wine it was unbalanced, when I pointed this out to the staff, the wine was taken away somewhere in the back, the waitress then returned to say that her colleague had said that the wine was fine and that decanting it would correct the wine. The decanter was clearly chipped on the rim and I objected and requested at the least a non chipped one. The wine didn’t correct. Apart from the company of my wife and the garden surrounding all the rest was very unlike of what a 4 star hotel’s restaurant should provide. The grounds of the hotel are very relaxing and comfortable,

Ich habe dieses Hotel ausgewählt, da es ideal in der Nähe des Kanaltunnels liegt. Buchstäblich nur etwa 5 Autominuten entfernt. Mein einziges Problem war das Einchecken. Ich war extrem müde, weil ich 7 Stunden gefahren war und mir dann gesagt wurde, dass meine Buchung nicht bezahlt worden war! Ich hatte 100 % bezahlt und konnte ihnen die Quittung vorlegen, aber es dauerte etwa eine halbe Stunde, bis sie endlich sahen, dass trip.com das Geld überwiesen hatte. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt war ich den Tränen nahe und so müde, dass ich nur noch auf mein Zimmer wollte. Da sie beide Französisch sprachen, hatte ich auch keine Ahnung, was sie sagten, es war wirklich stressig. Ich schrieb trip.com und sie waren extrem hilfsbereit und das Problem war innerhalb weniger Minuten gelöst. Ich wünschte, ich hätte das gleich getan, war mir aber zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht sicher, was das Problem war, da ich sie nicht verstehen konnte. Hinter mir war noch ein Paar, das das gleiche Problem hatte. Nachdem ich das überwunden hatte, war das Hotel selbst absolut in Ordnung. Ich ging zurück zur Rezeption, und die Dame war sehr hilfsbereit und gab mir Wegbeschreibungen usw. Ich hatte nicht gefrühstückt, daher kann ich dazu nichts sagen, aber ich bekam für ein paar Euro eine heiße Schokolade aus dem Automaten, die wirklich lecker war. Das Zimmer war recht klein, aber das störte mich nicht, da es nur ein Schlafplatz für die Nacht vor meiner Reise am nächsten Tag war. Ich würde wieder hier übernachten, da es praktisch für den Chanel-Tunnel ist.

Groß für ein paar Nächte Aufenthalt. Zentral zu allem Strand und Stadt. Wir reservierten ein übergeordnetes Zimmer, das modern und sauber, aber ein wenig klein war. Das Badezimmer war funktional und sauber, aber wieder sehr klein. Alle Mitarbeiter von Reinigungs- bis Rezeption freundlich und hilfsbereit. Bestimmt empfehlen Sie für einen Aufenthalt oder ein paar Nächte.

Schönes Hotel. Obwohl die Mitarbeiter am Empfang sehr freundlich waren, gab es ein Problem mit ihnen, dass ich nicht bezahlt und ich direkt über Trip.com bezahlt hatte, gab es keine Fragen zum Abflug und musste nur die Stadtsteuer zahlen. Schönes großes Zimmer mit einem oberen Stock und Balkon, denken Sie, es war ein Familienzimmer, wie Betten oben. Warnen Sie, das Bad ist sehr hoch und ich fiel aus dem Bad, weil ich kurz bin! Auch mein Partner, der über 6 Fuß ist, sagte es war hoch. Sehr sauber, schönes Barpersonal bei der Bar. Der Schwimmbad ist schön, aber es wurde extrem besetzt. Es ist ziemlich ein Spaziergang von der Stadt 15-20 min. Ich würde zurückgehen und wieder bleiben.

Wir haben dieses Hotel aufgrund der hervorragenden Lage in der Nähe des Eurotunnels gewählt und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Für Reisende, die eine unkomplizierte Anbindung suchen, ist es ideal. Das hat uns gefallen: Personal: Sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit beim Check-in. Zimmer: Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und für einen kurzen Aufenthalt überraschend gut ausgestattet. Lage: Man ist in kürzester Zeit am Terminal, was den Stress am Morgen deutlich reduziert. Zu beachten: Frühstück: Wir konnten das Frühstück leider nicht testen, da wir bereits sehr früh aufbrechen mussten. Für Frühabreiser ist das Hotel aber dennoch absolut zu empfehlen. Badezimmer: Die Dusche war etwas „gewöhnungsbedürftig“ bzw. von der Handhabung her ein wenig komisch, aber für eine Nacht völlig okay. Fazit: Ein solides, sauberes Hotel für alle, die eine Nacht vor der Tunnel-Durchquerung verbringen möchten. Wir würden hier definitiv wieder übernachten!

Front desk staff, Tiddy, waited me one hour after the usual closing time. He speaks fluent English and is very friendly. The parking is a little tricky. If you’re lucky, you can park your car free of charge after certain hour until 8:30 next morning on the street in front of the hotel. After 8:30, paying for two more hours at the machine, you can park till 10:30. I like the device which blows out hot air in the bathroom. Other amenities are very basic. Minimal in my opinion. I gave a 5/5 considering the price and the service I received.
