Closer still is Jefferson (~20 min), with a small store (don’t miss the homemade fudge!) and the beloved Hungry Moose Caboose. Winter Weather & Adventures Winter at The Hidden Grove is quiet, sparkling, and unforgettable—but it’s also the season to come prepared. From December through March, snow-covered pines and crisp mountain air turn the cabin into a true sanctuary. Expect temperatures to drop well below freezing—sometimes below zero—especially at night. Because daylight hours are shorter and the sun is lower in the sky, solar power is more limited in winter. This means mindful energy use is even more important.
