Recently stayed at Maison Barbes for a birthday trip to the city - and this hotel is perfect for a few nights of exploring and seeing the best of Monmartre. Huge thank you to all of the staff who made the stay feel really special - attentive, polite and willing to offer advice on what to see in the area. Overall the hotel is stunning, really well designed and comfortable. Agree with some other reviews that the area isn't the best after dark, but had no issues if you're able to ignore anyone selling cigarettes outside the metro. Gym is very small, but good enough for an early morning workout before hitting the city. Very well connected with metro routes, and not far from Gare Du Nord too which is super helpful for getting around. Breakfast was good to have as well, but plenty of boulangeries near by as well, so you have plenty of choice. Would definitely stay again - bear in mind that you're in Pairs and space comes at a premium, but this is boutique at its best.

This hotel is terrible. Receptionists are racists and nationalists. If you are coming from certain countries that are not liked in France, you will have the worst treatment ever. I hope that the hotel owners pay more attention to who they hire. The worst experience ever!

We stayed here on our last night in Paris. The toilet was not clean and the drain the shower was clogged. Since it was only one night, we didn't bother complaining; however, I came home to find that my card was charged an additional 100 euros. When I inquired with the hotel, I was told it was for smoking in my room and disturbing other guests. Neither I nor my fiance smoke so this is impossible. Stay at your own risk and check your credit card statement after your stay if you do so.

The size of the room was small and it was overlooking the courtyard with neighbour windows in 4 meters in front of you. There was no place for 2 people that can dress at the same time. The size of the bed was also small (around 1,9m long) and the legs were hang down. We hadn't water in the tap in the morning and I couldn't call the reception because the phone didn't work as well. Shower switch button didn't worked too. I asked about changing the room and proposed to pay on top but got rejected. I will not stay here again and will not recommend it.
