Well. my girlfriend and I (19 years old) stayed at the Istria hotel for 4 nights. when we arrived at the hotel (very early, 9 am) we were informed that the rooms are not ready, which was acceptable. we told the recepionist ( who was absolutely EGOCENTRIC) that we would come back later and that we would like to leave our suitcases until we return .Not only was it a huge effort to explain to him what we were intending to do (because this poor man talked only French) but we were also astounded to find out that they're going to charge us 4 euros (2 euros each) for " la consigne" - luggage storage - then we paid, like we had other choice. we came back in the evening, 8 pm, and all we wanted to have was to have a shower and to sleep in a clean bad. Fortunately - this what we got. The room, tiny but sufficient, very clean and the beds were properly made. The day after our arriva,l we went down the stairs to get to the breakfast dining area. The lovely maid served us gracefully. The breakfast consisted of some croissants, some bread, toasts, jam, butter, cheese and chocolate - we didn't expect to have more than that and it was 10% fine. The location is actually great, thanks to the Raspail Metro station which was 30 meters from our hotel, but also thanks to Bienvenue Montparnasse and Edgar Quinet stations which was both a few minutes walking (not more than 10 - I guarantee you that) from our hotel. Bref ( as the they tend to say) - the hotel was quite good and did meet most of our expectations from a 3 stars hotel. The hotel is in a great location and if you look for a clean room at the end to a tiring day - you'll find it there. One more thing that I must mention is that the egocentric receptionist was only one person of the whole stuff. The other receptionists were very friendly and were eager to help us, so I hope you'll be lucky enough not to meet that specific receptionist. ENJOY YOUR TRIP IN PARIS !!!
