Anchorage Motel

The location of this motel was excellent. Very easy walking distance to everything you need. It was a clean and tidy place, but unfortunately it needs a good update/ maintenance. We stayed on the ground floor, and while there was plenty of space for us, but the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The sliding door, was almost off it's track and was crumbling at the bottom due to the moisture from the bathroom. This was because, you were unable to open the window at the shower more than about 3cm, so it was unable to get fresh air in or the steam out. There was no fan/extractor in the bathroom either. Because of this issue, the shower curtain had quite a bit of mould on the bottom of it as well. These are not quick fixes, but full maintenance issues, hence why we didn't complain. There are no screens on the windows (this was pretty much everywhere we stayed though, so not unusual), so bugs were able to come into the rooms if left open for fresh air. The staff we did see were friendly and professional. The photo's are out of date on the website, this place is looking tired. I wouldn't rate this 4 stars, maybe 3, but I'm sure with a spruce up and some maintenance it would meet 4 stars. It was very clean .

Arrived Thurs 28th for a short stay leaving Sunday 1st Dec we arrived to lovely weather. Easy check-in and very amenable helpful staff. Rooms very clean and tidy with toiletries should you need. The hot tub and pool a definite draw along with the sea across the road and walking distance to the town centre of Paihia. Breakfast on the balcony was perfect too. Really enjoyed this and will definitely stay there again.

It gets booked up and I can understand why - we wanted a smaller room but could only get a family room We arrived well before check in time but our room was ready and we were treated by a smiling member of staff and showed our room . The room is fully equipped and spotlessly clean . It is close to the road and you do get some road noise but not so much at night . But it shows the level of thought as there are ear plugs in the bedside cupboards . We didn’t need them . Pool,nice size for a relaxing swim after swim in the sea just across the road - it’s a great location

We stayed in an upper level studio unit which had all the facilities needed for a comfy 3 night stay. Large shower with good water pressure, comfortable bed in a freshly renovated and clean room. Handy location to the beach, quay and the town centre. Ample on site parking. A kitchenette, sky TV, a great sea view, pool and hot tub. Hosts and housekeeping were very helpful and friendly. Just a little traffic noise as on the main road through town. Would definitely recommend this motel.

Had a spa room which was great and whole room experience was very comfortable . Restaurant next door so could have,a meal and a few drinks without having to worry about driving. Owners and staff were awesome.
