Econo Lodge Paducah West I-24

I only expect the basics from Econo Lodge but was disappointed that this location didn't meet that standard. The card key to my room didn't work. After checking with the front desk, I learned the lock on my room needed to be re-programmed. It took nearly 7 hours! Every time I left my room, I had to have a staff member let me in. The guy who kept promising to fix it didn't show up until almost 10:30 that evening. My friends and I cancelled our evening plans because we were afraid no staff member would be around when we returned. (It was eclipse weekend, so everything around us was booked.) None of the vending machines worked. Each one had a sign saying items could only be purchased from the front desk. The sign in front of the hotel was never turned on, which made it easy to miss the turn because one would expect to see the hotel sign at night. Lastly, one of the guests had the door to his room wrapped in a confederate flag! I'm glad we were only there for one night. It didn't feel like a safe place to stay!

This is the filthiest hotel/motel I have ever been in. Dirt in all the corners and around the toilet was disgusting. There were dead bugs on the floor. Water trickled out of the sink in which there was no plug and a toothpaste cap or some other cap in the bottom of the drain collecting germs and whatever else. The black stripping that goes along the wall at the floor in the bathroom was away from the wall in large areas and filled with dirt and grime and disgusting stuff. The shower head was rusted and water only came out of half the shower head. There was no towel bar as it had been ripped off the wall and only the holder for the bar was left sticking out. Another problem was a rather large space at the bottom of the door to the room that allows bugs and whatever can squeeze thru in.The pillows looked like they had been beaten flat. This place should not be allowed to even have guests; it is unsanitary. Also, we had to ask to get clean towels. Cheap? Yeah, first night, then outrageous considering the accommodations. We expected higher prices for Quilt Week, but this was terrible. No wonder their policy is if you leave early you still have to pay. My friend and I left early as this place was disgusting.
