The hotel Pousada do Arcanjo is an excellent place to stay while visiting Ouro Preto. The manager Marco Abdo de Freitas studied management at New York's Ivy League Columbia University, which shows in his excellent management of the pousada. There is an exquisite attention to detail. The staff are not only friendly and highly cooperative, but they also all share a genuine concern for their guests. The rooms are clean and large with a nice bathroom and shower. Ouro Preto is a city of history and the Pousada Arcanjo reflects the city's amazing history. The hotel is comfortable and tastefully decorated in a historic style. The hotel is within walking distance of the town's main square, but there is also a shuttle bus that will drop you off at the main square and pick you up after a day of walking Ouro Preto's steep hills. The hotel is a great place to have a well made cocktail, but also a great place to have a dinner. The breakfast is super with an amazing variety of fresh fruits and local cheeses. Some hotels in the city center can be noisy, but one of the things we loved about the pousada is how peaceful it is at night. The bed was huge and very comfortable. As if all this was not enough, when the taxi was late coming to pick us up for the airport, the owner himself, concerned for our well-being, dropped us off himself. As New Yorkers who once ran a bed and breakfast, we can assure you that this is a quiet, clean and charming place to stay.

Das Hotel ist sehr komfortabel. Großes Zimmer und sehr komfortabel Bettwäsche. Frühstück ist großartig. Keine große Auswahl, aber gemütlich. Der einzige Punkt, der unzufrieden ist, ist, dass der Käsebrot (das berühmteste und erwartete für einen Touristen, der nach MG geht) immer kalt und drucken. Sie nehmen sie 7 Uhr morgens und nicht wieder auf den Wein. Negative Punkte: 1) Ich fand entfernt von der Mitte und zu erreichen musste GOT Steine zu steigen. Es ist sehr müde, dorthin zu reisen, um regelmäßige körperliche Aktivität zu machen. 2) häufiger Motorrad-Lautsprechung steigen die Steine zurecht an der Zimmerseite. Ich fand nicht die ruhige Gegend. Obwohl das Hotel guten Service, Komfort und guten Kaffee habe ich nicht durch diese beiden Punkte zurückkommen würde. Ich würde etwas näher am Platz Tiradentes und den zentralen Restaurants bevorzugen.

Outstanding crew. An historical building. We had a nice and cozy room with an explendid view. The pool is tiny but was the first pool in the entire city and is protected by historical authorities. No changes can be made. The owners are always present and offers anyone all the attention needed. It is a catholic enviroment but no proselytism. Just an historical situation. Any denominations will be at home and feel confortable. Breakfast is included in hotel rate with huge variety of local products. There is a parking lot. Two water streams runs on both sides of the building and the hotel is Eco friendly. Sometimes we though it was raining but it was just the water stream's sounds. Funny. We loved to stay there. I recommend this hotel. As an historical building there are limitations in soudproofing. But, in my experience, guest's education is what makes the diference.

Die Unterkunft, in einem alten Bau wie in Black Gold sein sollte, ist super gut vorsichtig und unvermeidlich in der Reinigung. Sie hat keinen Zimmerservice, aber hat einen guten Frühstück. Die Unterkunft hat Garage, und ist höflich, aber nur für erfahrene Fahrer, und mutig. Niemand im Hotel hat die Mut, zu manövrieren. Aus diesem Grund kann man sich auf die Tipps von Wellingtons Rezeption und Restaurants (wie der File) verlassen, denn sie sind sicher. Und der Bistro gut nahe (30m) der Unterkunft ist sehr legal, von Dekoration bis zum Essen, und das Bier ist gefroren. Wir würden sicher wieder in diese Unterkunft. Ich empfehle.
