We arrived after a long day of travel and were immediately rewarded by the views and accommodations in this space. Dinner and breakfast, which were included for our group, were good - they weren’t the best we had on the trip, but the service was excellent and the setting more than made up for it. The bar: stick to beer and wine. If you try a cocktail, be prepared to tell them how to make it. Wander the central pool area and the many rooftop sitting areas and you’ll luxuriate in a beautiful and restful stay. This was one of the few places in Morocco that separated the beds in the double-room. In fact, our room could’ve slept 3 comfortably. And, we had a large sitting area outside that seemed to be easily accessible only to us, although it was not gated or anything prohibiting access to others. Just beyond the hotel are working alfalfa fields. We enjoyed watching the workers gather and process the crop. Out of respect, we stayed out of their way and didn’t take any close-up pictures. We explored Ait Ben Haddou after breakfast and loved it! It’s accessible to all guests and not roped off in any places like you might see in the states. Walking through it is like walking through a movie. It’s an UNESCO World Heritage sight, so it IS history and a record of a long-ago time. Highly recommend fitting this oasis into your itinerary.
