For the price of this hotel, you can’t go wrong. Love the location and the view of Mount Fuji. This is a basic local hotel surrounded by much more expensive accommodations. We stay for 2 nights during the autumn light illumination festival. I have requested for a Mount Fuji view room. Worth the extra dollars to admire the beauty. The challenge is always trying to get a room during the peak season like cherry blossoms or autumn leaves season. Better book well in advance. This hotel offers free parking and free breakfast, simple but yet complete meal. The hotel looks like it had recently been remodel or upgraded from another establishment. The hotel surrounding and finish looks well maintained. Highly recommended stay.

I stayed at the Kogetsu for 2 nights in May and it was an unforgettable experience. Every detail was beautiful and thoughtful. I booked rather late and was not able to book the same room, so the first night I stayed in a Standard Western Style twin w open-air bath; and the second night in a Standard Japanese Modern w open-air bath (Triple). Both were on the 3rd (of 5) floors and both had stunning views of Mt Fuji. Both incorporated both Japanese and Western style. The first room had wood floors throughout and half-shoji screen doors so you could separate the bedroom and dining areas. It also had a small walk-in closet. The outdoor onsen was quite large (could easily fit 4 adults) and the patio was wider than in the Triple room. I posted pics of the Standard Western Style Twin and will post the pics of the Triple separately. In contrast the Triple room was larger and there was a gorgeous daybed (which becomes the 3rd bed) with windows on either side overlooking Mt Fuji. The onsen was a bit smaller (could easily fit 2 adults). The bedroom was carpeted, dining area had tatami-style mats, and hallway had wood floors. There was a wardrobe rather than walk-in closet in this room. Both rooms had a wet area for washing up before the onsen, a separate powder room, and separate toilet room. Honestly, you can’t go wrong - both rooms were gorgeous. I felt lucky to be here. One thing to note is that there is a boat launch beside the ryokan, so my open-air onsen on 3rd floor was not super private (there’s a screen to pull down if you want privacy, but it obscures the view). The 4th/5th floors would have more feeling of privacy. The kaiseki meals were beautifully displayed and delicious. The 2 nights’ menus were different but followed a similar (but not identical) format: 1) Aperitif, 2) Seasonal appetizers, 3) Soup, 4) Sashimi, 5) Main course (hot), 6) Steamed fish, 7) Grilled fish, 8) Palette cleanser, 9) simmered dish, 10) rice dish, and 11) dessert. My nakai, Fumiko-san, was lovely - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was also included - it was half- buffet, with an elegant bento box with appetizers and tamago. It also included delicious tempura, made to order and delivered to your table. The hotel has a happy hour from 2:30-6:30 where a limited selection of tea, coffee, nonalcoholic drinks, beer and wine are free. You can enjoy them on the gorgeous terrace overlooking Mt Fuji with your feet soaking in the footpath (just not in your room). Lastly there are shuttles every morning to Kawaguchiko Station or any of the tourist sights on the way, and the hotel will send a shuttle to pick you up when you are ready to come back. The location of this ryokan could not be better - close to some great museums and on the North shore of the lake, which has the best views (and away from the touristy South shore).

For more general details about Fufu Kawaguchiko, please read my review from October 2020... We decided at the last minute to pay a visit to the Fuji Five Lakes area because the weather forecast called for a clear day (and hopefully a clear view of Mt. Fuji.) Thankfully, one room was available, and it was the exact same room as the one we stayed at the first time (Fufu Luxury Premium Suite, Room #408.) It's a top-floor corner suite with a separate bedroom/living room along with an expansive balcony and a free-flowing, open-air Onsen (natural hot springs) bath. As rooms go, it's pure bliss. Modern, tastefully furnished and decorated, bright and airy, and has all of the amenities and features one would expect when staying at a relatively new high-end property. We still feel that Fufu doesn't make the best use of its space - it's a bit busy, and consequently seems a bit less spacious than its specifications suggest (it's officially 136 square meters, although someone we can't help but feel that they're counting the balcony space as part of the overall room size.) It's really less of a ryokan and more of a hotel with ryokan-style elements. Shoes don't need to come off (although you're advised to do so in the guest rooms), they provide ”Samue” (sort of spa pajama/style) outfits rather than the traditional (and albeit more pretty but less comfortable) Yukatas, but still retain some of the common ryokan charms (and a few drawbacks.) The staff are relatively young, hip and ”pretty”, and more casually friendly than the typical traditional ryokan, which is good or bad, depending on your perspective. We enjoyed the high-energy vibe of the place, although we also do enjoy the finesse and quaintness that top traditional ryokans exhibit as well (Asaba is a perfect example of this.) The clientele are also more youthful than most other properties that we've stayed at - this is where the young, wealthy and beautiful go to see and be seen, that's for sure. Again, not necessarily a bad thing, but just a FYI. Not much has changed from our last stay, although I will say that we enjoyed the food offering a bit more this time. We learned that they brought in a new head chef, and while it's not a night-and-day difference, we did notice a quality and creative improvement from last time. A few specialty dishes were once again served, including a unique cheese gratin with Natto (fermented soybeans that is slimy and has a pungent odor) for breakfast - we enjoyed the dish, but not sure how many Westerners can handle Natto, which is a very acquired taste. While we wish there was an option to have meals served in one's own room, we do think that Fufu needs to have more ”ko****su” private dining rooms in the restaurant. They only have a handful of them, and priority goes to large groups or families with small children. When we go to a high-end ryokan, we prefer not to dine in an open, restaurant-style environment. Die Lage ist fantastisch, einen kurzen Spaziergang vom Fuji-Station Mt. Immobilien ist direkt vorwärts und sauber, mit einem großen Essbereich und dann ein fantastisches Dach mit ununterbrochenen Blicken auf Fuji San. (Sie werden es von anderen Vorteilepunkten sehen wollen, aber ein noch toll zu sehen es vom Hotel so einfach.) Fahrräder zur Vermietung auf Verfügbarkeit, die eine tolle Möglichkeit, um die Stadt zu erreichen. If you are looking for a zen accommodation that is far and away from the hustle and bustle, one that exudes tranquility, has the perfect Mt Fuji view with no photobomb (no one to vie with you for the best view / photo spot) and is new, modern and basically impeccable a room, this is the right hotel for you. I have almost nothing but praises for this accommodation except perhaps its location. As it is allll the way up the hilly area and right on the opposite side of Lake Kawaguchiko’s main bustling area, you can really only rely on 1) their shuttle service which has pretty limited timings (last shuttle at 4.30pm) cos after all it’s mostly meant for shuttling guests on arrival only 2) taxi which is expensive ~ 10mins ride up for 3,000 yen 3) driving your own vehicle. Apart from its distant proximity to the station and all, it really is the best kind of accommodation where it’s almost like an attraction itself, the kind where you intentionally spend a night at the hotel just to get the full experience. Have a look at the photos and let the photos do the talking (sorry they are kinda blurry as I took screenshots off the room video instead). Service is excellent, and staff is really nice and helpful too albeit limited English-speaking staff. They have a Mandarin-speaking staff onsite which is really helpful. My friend and I opted for breakfast as well which is pretty good, but note that you will have to inform the receptionist on your preferred time slot (nothing like the buffet style / seating) at the end of the day (they would likely approach you to ask abt it though so no worries even if you had forgotten abt it). Note that the private hot spring bath in the room is simply natural hot spring water and not onsen; silly me thought it was onsen 🥲 anyhow, the bathtub was really clean too so plus points to the housekeeping. All in all, a really lovely, enjoyable and most definitely unforgettable stay at Kumonoue Fuji! Would I choose to stay here again on my next trip to Mt Fuji? Absolutely, in a heartbeat!

Wir nahmen nur eine Nacht in Kasuitei Oya ein, als wir Kawaguchiko und Mount Fuji auf dem Weg von Tokyo nach Matsumoto besuchten. Das Hotel sandte einen Shuttlebus zum Bahnhof und war dort in einem Blitz. Das Hotel war sehr gut ausgestattet - sie waren sehr aufmerksam und froh, Zeit zu verbringen, um lokale Dinge zu empfehlen, zu besuchen. Das Zimmer selbst war schön mit einem großen Blick auf den See. Wir reservierten ein westliches Stilzimmer, das noch die traditionelle Tatami mat-Bereich für Entspannung hatte, aber auch ein erhöhtes westliches Stilbett, das wir genossen. Wir genossen wirklich die Badewanne und erwähnten die Buchung des privaten Bades für eine Stunde. Am Ende haben wir gerade die Standard-Badewanne verwendet und die Außenwohnung war wirklich wunderschön. Ich sah den vollen Mond aufsteigen aus dem Bad, das den See überblickte - magische Moment. Obwohl Sie keine Fuji-Ansicht von den Badezimmern oder dem Zimmer im Hotel erhalten, gibt es einen Balkon auf dem gleichen Stock wie die Badezimmer, wo Sie Fuji sehen können. Die Lage des Hotels ist brillant - Sie können leicht zu Restaurants und alles andere, was Sie brauchen, gehen. Wir verbrachten einen schönen Abend in einer sehr nahe gelegenen Izakaya namens Cooliya Bar, empfohlen vom Hotel und ein toller Ort für einige smackvolle Platten und ein paar Getränke später am Abend. Wir hatten das traditionelle Frühstück am Morgen. Es gab viele Gerichte im Frühstück - schön vorgestellt, aber ein wenig zu viel Essen für mich am Morgen, mit einigen Gerichten ein wenig auf der experimentellen Seite für uns! Insgesamt, ein großer Aufenthalt und würde empfehlen.

Die Gesamtanlage liegt zwei Ebenen höher als die in Asakusa und der Berg Fuji ist aus dem Fenster zu sehen. Die Miso-Suppe am Frühstücksbuffet ist für meinen Geschmack während meiner Japanreise am besten geeignet. Das Kind liebte diese heiße Quelle. Er badete dreimal in zwei Tagen und sein kleines Gesicht wurde rot. Als ich jedoch am ersten Abend ins Freibad ging, roch es sehr stark nach desinfizierendem Wasser, genau wie in heimischen Schwimmbädern. Nach 10 Minuten hatte ich das Gefühl, in etwas eingehüllt zu sein, und mein Erlebnis wurde herabgestuft . Ich muss mich beschweren, Taxis sind in Japan wirklich teuer.

Ein klassisches Hotel, das von zwei freundlichen älteren Männern verwaltet wird. Beide ojiisan können Englisch sprechen, aber beide verstehen, was ich in Englisch gesagt habe. Sie beide versuchten, trotzdem hilfreich zu sein. Das Personal und die Crew des Hotels sind auch ältere Menschen. Das Hotel liegt nahe dem Bus und Bahnhof Kawaguchiko (weniger als 100m). Es gibt einen Fahrradverleih Shop wenige Meter von seiner linken Seite. Das Doppelbettzimmer, das ich reserviert habe, ist klein, aber komfortabel und ein paar Räume für mich, um meinen Solat auszuführen. Das Schiebefenster ist auch seltsam und da ich nicht wusste, wie es zu schließen, haben wir unser Zimmer nass aus dem Regen, die Nacht 😭. Die Betten sind bequem mit einem kleinen Kissen jeweils. Das Badezimmer und das Toilette sind auch klein, aber sauber, komplett mit grundlegenden Toiletten - saubere Handtücher, harter Zahnbürste und Zahnpasta, eine kleine Seife und ein Shampoo-Paket. Wie vorsichtig mit dem heißen Wasser, weil der Strom nicht stabil ist und Sie sich von den plötzlichen heißen Flüssen verbrennen. Innerhalb des Zimmers haben wir einen TV, Klimaanlage (das Zimmer ist im Sommer heißer, auch mit einem Klimaanlage), Slips, yukata (nicht fret, wenn Sie nicht ein Nachthemd mitbringen), zwei kleine Stühle und ein kleines Tisch, ein paar Pakete grüner Tee, Glass und eine seltsame Kehle mit japanischen Anweisungen 😭😭😭, die wir nicht verstanden haben. Kein Mineralwasser in Flaschen lieferten, so dass wir das kochtete Tappewasser verwendeten. Die Verkaufsmaschinen unten stehen auch keine Mineralwasser liefern. 7 Elevan und Lawson sind etwa 200m bis 300m vom Hotel (auf der rechten Seite). Ich habe alle meine Rationen von der Kawaguchiko Station, weil es näher an das Hotel und die Station ist. hat alle Arten von Verkaufsmaschinen

Für: 1. Das Zimmer war bequem mit 3 Erwachsenen ausgestattet, obwohl das Badezimmer für eine Person ein wenig klein war. 2. Die Gesamtreinigung des Hotels war zufriedenstellend. 3. Das Frühstück erfüllt unsere Erwartungen. 4. Die Erfahrung von unsen war insgesamt angenehm. 5. Die Lage des Hotels ist bequem, nahe dem Kawaguchiko See. 6. Freier Parkplatz ist in der Nähe des Eingangs des Hotels. Kons: 1. Wir buchten speziell ein Zimmer mit ”Bergblick”, um den Berg Fuji zu sehen. Unser Zimmer war auf Ebene 3. Leider waren wir enttäuscht, dass unsere Ansicht nur die Spitze des Berges umfasste, obstruiert durch Gebäude und elektrische Kabel. Dies war ganz anders als die auf ihrer Website angekündigte malerische Ansicht. Angesichts des hohen Preiss für das Zimmer (SGD$800 pro Nacht für 3 Personen, war dies eine große Enttäuschung. Wir sind fest davon überzeugt, dass das Hotel das Angebot von Ebene 3 Zimmer als Die Zimmer und die Reserven 4 und 5 für diese Kategorie, da dies als eine Missvertretung fühlt. 2. Das Abendessen war ein gewaltiges Abfall. Wir wurden nur 2 Platten von durchschnittlichem Fleisch (Schwein und Rindfleisch) und 1 Gemüseplatte für Shabu Shabu serviert. Die Auswahl war sehr begrenzt. Obwohl wir für den nächsten Abend ein Kaiseki Ryori (Multi-Cursus-Japan-Stil-Mahl) angeboten wurden, gab es eine zusätzliche Gebühr von über $3000+ Yen pro Person für die Upgrade. Trotz der zusätzlichen Kosten erschien diese Option attraktiver, da wir nicht die gleiche Shabu Shabu zwei Nächte in einer Reihe haben wollten.

Mein Mann und ich blieben hier eine Nacht Anfang Oktober 2020. Eincheckzeit war um 2 Uhr, und die Mitarbeiter waren sehr effizient und freundlich, in schöner „yukata“ gekleidet. Das Zimmer verfügt über ein schönes Aussehen, mit zwei Doppelbetten und einem Fernseher, einem separaten Sitzbereich mit einem anderen Fernseher und einer Minibar und einem großen Sofa/Bettbereich an einem Fenster, von dem man einen sehr großen Fuji-Mt sehen kann. Es gab ein Innenbad und ein separates Duschezimmer, das zu einem Außenwarmbad führte, das nicht zu heiß war. Ich musste nicht einmal etwas kaltes Wasser hinzufügen. Es gab ein Dachtop-Hot-Badewanne (nur für Frauen) und schöne größere heiße Frühlingsbade auf verschiedenen Etagen. Andere kleinere Familienbadewanne könnten vorbehalten werden. Beachten Sie, dass die Handtücher in den Zimmern nicht zu diesen Badewanne zu nehmen, da die Lieferungen dort liegen. Das Zimmer hatte Gäste “yukata” und Haori(warme Westen) sowie eine andere Art von Top/Slacks, die im ganzen Hotel verwendet werden können. (Bitte beachten Sie, dass Sie im Voraus über die Größenbereiche dieser Artikel fragen können). „Tabi“-Socken wurden in unserem Zimmer kostenlos geliefert, und für jeden von uns wurden kostenlose, verpackte kleine Badehandtücher und Ausstattung bereitgestellt. Zwei Flaschen Wasser wurden bereitgestellt, aber die im Mini-Bar-Kühlschrank gelagerten Gegenstände müssen bei der Abfertigung bezahlt werden (wie vom Zimmerbetreiber bei der Abfertigung erklärt). Im Zimmer war eine schöne kostenlose Auswahl an Tee und Kaffee, mit einer schönen Tasse japanischer Tee und einem komplimentären Stück Nutte Schokolade auf, während sie auf das Zimmer und das Layout des Hotels ausgerichtet war. Das Zimmer hat einen kostenlosen „Taiko“-Ausstellung am Abend (2 zeigt jede Nacht), mit dem wir um 8:45 Uhr beginnen (die zweite). Gäste können entweder japanische oder westliche Mahlzeiten wählen. Wir haben Japan für beide Sitzungen gewählt, aber die Qualität des brichsten Mahlzeitens bevorzugt, was sehr lecker war.
