Podere Sette Piagge

We visited in May and stayed in the two apartments. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. It’s a great place to sit out and read a book, have wine with friends and enjoy the views, swim… We’re trying to find an opportunity to return and do a mix of vacation and WFH so we can stay longer. Francesca is a great host, knows Orvieto well and works really hard to make sure you have a great experience. She helped us with transportation for winery tours, restaurant and tour recommendations, when we wanted to relax outdoors with some Prosecco and fruit she made an amazing platter for us. She has a driver she works with that can take you into town, wine tasting… and you can message him when you need a ride back. The breakfasts are really good, I think most of the food is from their farm. It is a short walk into town and the views are beautiful, but it is pretty steep. I’m 62 and it was about a 15 minute walk. I’d usually walk into town most days but my wife and our friend we travelled with would usually take a ride in. We didn’t have a car but it was easy to get a ride into town from the driver she works with.

This place was like heaven! Driving into the property we were met (every time we came back from an excursion) by two very sweet and friendly dogs. Francesca was very friendly and helpful. Our accommodations were lovely and so comfortable. The bed and pillows also very comfy. Spacious private bathroom. Super clean property. Fruit trees everywhere. The entire property was just so lovely. It was October when we visited so the pool was closed. But there are many places to sit quietly outside to read or swing, or gather in the pavilion. The entire property is very picturesque. A play area was set up for little ones. Breakfast buffet was very nice. We ate way more than we should have! The old town of Orvieto is just a few minutes away by car. An easy drive. Or you could walk via a very steep hill. We chose the easy drive every time! Overall, such an endearing, almost storybook, place to visit. Don't miss it! We hope to return one day.

A gorgeous stay with a beautiful family and their pets Francesca could not be anymore helpful with suggestions and suggestions ensured we had a comfortable stay Beautiful breakfast provided 15 min of walk to old town which is gorgeous Beautiful gardens and a pool if you are lucky enough to experience warm weather. We stayed for three nights and loved the place. Francesca, the owner, is very helpful and friendly and has perfect English. She recommended excellent restaurants as well as explaining the route to walk up into town. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The breakfasts, grounds and room were wonderful too and when the sun shone it was a treat to get in the pool. A lovely stay. Thank you.

What a heavenly stay I was fortunate enough to have here! I stayed for 5 nights. I arrived by train and was collected by the hotel's driver which was pre-arranged. My room was spacious and cool and so very comfortable. I was thrilled to discover I had a solid large table at which to sit. The care and attention that emanated from everywhere is a testament to Francesca and her family. The hand made furniture and embroidered tablecloth and bed linen in my room, enhanced the homely atmosphere. Francesca's friendliness and warmth, combined with her sound detailed advice and recommendations, made my stay so relaxing and memorable. As I didn't have a car I used the mountain path behind the hotel to walk up to Orvieto. It was steep but gave fabulous views on the way and at the top. Breakfast was plentiful and homemade, served by a charming young lady whose name I forget, who was always smiling and personable. It was so lovely to be greeted by her each morning. The restaurant across the road was where I took my evening meals. I enjoyed the gorgeous gardens and the swimming pool. I would return in a heartbeat.

My friends and I spent a day in Orvieto and an evening at Podere Sette Piagge. The owners are extremely attentive and gracious. Francesca went out of her way to ensure us a comfortable, cozy stay. Each room is uniquely designed with beautiful wooden furniture built right in Umbria. The breakfast was delicious. This spacious, relaxing, country home is nestled in the hillside just below the town of Orvieto. Francesca was extremely helpful in planning our tour of Orvieto, and assisting in our travel. She can arrange for cooking classes, wine tasting, food pairing, vineyard & bike tours. This hidden gem is a must see & stay.
