Wells River Motel

This place got unfair reviews from people for sure. The couple that own this place are super friendly. They live right on property. We asked them about the reviews and you could tell it upset them and it wasn't them. They even let us see the room before we went in. It was all hand picked decor and decorations by the wife. You could tell a lot of work was put in. The bathroom tile and shower were brand new. It was small but welcoming. A great place to stay especially if you are passing through like we were. There isn't anything to do on the property itself but there are couple of local places to eat. It's a very small town and I feel like some of the especially nasty reviews might have been from some pompous people looking for a five star hotel in the city. The room was very clean. Everything was neat and well kept. They asked us time and time again in passing if everything was okay. They definitely care. They definitely are trying. We were just passing through and if we go through again, we will stay.

Got into town and went over to find it closed at 7:30 pm at night. What’s up with that? Really? It doesn’t say this online. Nothing extra offered, very dated. Very little for nearly the same price of a 3 star Nice place in Woodsville. Needless to say- this is a big No.
